East coast server problem fixed?
Just logged onto Infinity and got a nice lawn with no red spikes!

Must've been a temporary fix, cuz the red spikes are back on Infinity.

Same thing on Victory. We were back to green grass for about an hour tonight and then it was back to the red spikes of hatred.

Keep in mind ithat it was the fault of a third party provider, not CoH. NCsoft apparently sent them a message to fix it.. but it's out of their hands after that.

I personally would fit into the die hard customer that WOULD go out of the way to still go to said dealer (in this case CoX) but I'd still be upset by it (that is upset at the correct people, in this case I'm NOT upset with CoX).

Neither the customers nor the dealer had anything to do with it but both still have a perfectly valid reason for being upset by it.

D'oh....
Yeah...I got all excited last night and got myself into a ITF (I've just been doing crafting and shopping on Freedom lately). It was pretty awesome for a while...then the spikes returned with a vengeance. They are still there now....though not as bad as I've seen.
I take last night as an encouraging sign. At least the potential for a fix must exist.
What we need is an email address for the players to send complaints to. Someone is not doing a good job and I would like to let them know about that. It sure couldn't hurt to fill up an email box somewhere (what...can it go from "unplayable" to "super-duper unplayable"?).

I do hope it clears up for you soon though.
I've never had issues to the point of pulling up netgraph and seeing red spikes everywhere...
...until after maintenance yesterday.
I play on Triumph, and it's getting really weird:
- Enemies vanishing and reappearing
- Toggles not showing the activation spin
- Clicks that constantly show the activation spin.
It's a bit rough right now. I hope it gets fixed before Issue 16 goes live.
I almost feel guilty that I am not having all the lagging and probs that everyone else is, and I play exclusively on Triumph. (and with an older AGP machine even..sheesh. My isp is Qwest.) Don't know if my little 'rituals' that I do before logging into the game help, but I will pass them along.
1. I use CCleaner to dump temp files
2. I do a quick defrag with Defraggler
3. I open the 'run' prompt and enter ipconfig /flushdns
3. I turn off my anti-virus program (ONLY when running COH..it goes right back on after I log out.)
Since I started doing these things, I don't have all the lag, very seldom get a mapserve or rubberbanding...I have all my settings maxed, (no DoF,though..hate that 'dreamy' look.) Maybe I am just lucky, but if any of my tips works for anyone else, it would make me VERY happy. Even during the Rikti raids, it doesn't look like a slideshow to me. There is a little lag, but nothing showstopping.

It can't fix this issue though.
The problem here is a particular provider gumming up the works. It's not the player computer's fault, and it's not the server's fault. It's a point in-between. You (and me) just happen to be in locations that don't pass through the area being affected, and it's not a problem for us, whereas it seems there is a large population of other people who have issues keeping stable connections on the route to the East Coast servers from wherever they are.
