Hami Raids; a thing of the past?

I have a severe itch to run a Hami Raid but after asking around in my SG and some other friends on the server found that Hami is basically left untouched nowadays. I have been away from the game for the past 2 years and would love to try out the 'new raid' schematics.

Are there others out there who would be up for planning a raid maybe bimonthly? I realize with a drop in population that doing a "Tuesday night Hami" every week is probably not feasible.

Post your chars you'd like to bring to a raid and a preferred night and we'll see what interest gets drummed up!

We ran one last night. It was full of lulz.

But I don't see any reason why they couldn't be successful with one person who knows what they're doing running it.

But to be honest, I've done the blueside Hami Raid several times now. What I want to do is a redside Hami Raid. They're running them regularly on Protector, why not here?

they were popular for a while blue side jsut before the AE release in i14...tuesday nights there were usually 2 back to back.....the idea was to take a break till the comotion died down....and well...it had not....

There are very few people on Pinn who know how or are willing to try and coordinate a raid. Blue side you may have a few left, redside I think would be pretty hopeless considering the state of the last public raid. The only group I heard of doing private raids is gone as well.

If you want the basic strategy read FashionSense's guide but its been modified since then. Blue side I know it can be done with as few as two teams.

We were the first to do it on Live. I guess we haven't wanted to face the sophomore slump.

Wasn't it Nites who organized that?

actually it was fashionsense from JL who organized the public one, there were 2 other groups to sucessfully pull it off privately on this server as well.

Pinnacle was the first to do the redside one. I think that that one VG who isn't around anymore tried to run one the night before so they could be cool, but they failed miserably. I was the lead stone on the hami raid....trying to remember who my personal kin was, spazz, jazz? something like that. Wonder what happened to that guy.

I think one problem lately with Hamidon raids, is there is not enough veterans around to run them. Tried putting one together red side back in Febuary 2009. Not enough villians showed up to be effective. Then this past weekend in August 2009, another attemp was made blue side. Too many new players to the mix to just listen to what needed to happen. Sometimes hard to get 48 players to follow one person. But thats our fault.

I miss Hamidon raids too. It's the one place where people ask me to heal with my storm summoner.

Id be down for a hami raid. Although I've only been to 1. Back when they were in style I was on dial up. lol.

If someone else hosts the first one so I can learn the new strategies, I'll host weekly ones, or at least help organize/advertise.

not worth the aggrivation Pie-Ro, it's a thankless job that just brings you more grief than its worth. I dont think there are any leaders of sucessful raids left in game, myself, beef, mystiqual heart, and fashionsense are all in Champions. I dunno where Spark-1 is, if he is still around or not. Anyways good luck, maybe someone can show hami how much prestige he has and hami will just die out of the sheer awesomeness of it.

We all know what happened to "that guy" son, leaders lead people towards a goal, followers just stay where they are until someone tells them to get moving.

"yes, it is see the flames"

Didn't fashionsense run the last hami raid this past weekend? As for the last time I ran a raid, it was way back in 05

Fashion was leader for all but one on his controller. JL did the hami tank and main scrapper teams. Hound from EC18 was the original one to get enough people together to give it a shot.

There may be enough people around if you can find the right ones. Talon Flash knows the scrapper routine well enough to lead them, Lemur probably does as well. I can't recall the blaster who always lead that group but I bet somone does. The tank team just needs 2 good tanks and 2 emps who can keep one perma buffed. The 2nd tank is just a back up and picks up stray yellow agro. The controller/mixmash team is the only one I don't really know but I am sure its easy enough.

The fastest way it done is to have tanks taunt the yellow mito's while a scrapper kill team takes them down. Blasters/controllers concentrate holds on one green at a time so it can be damage spiked when its finally held. It just takes good timing. Hami tank needs plenty of EoE's and the more Hitpoints he has the better. Stones are pretty good but I'd use a Shields with tough and a HP build now. A good invuln with a fast recharge on DP works fine to. Only the Hami Tank ever taunts hami. That's Fashions guide in a nutshell except the extra tanks covering yellows instead of scrappers, that just depends on what shows up for the raid.

so its:
Buff Phase:
60 seconds: CM's on all, stacked as much as possible
20 seconds: RA's & AM on entire raid group
10: Hami tank goes
5: Scrapper kill team goes
0: Everyone Els into the Goo

Attack Phase:
1. Get Hami Agro
2. Get ALL yellow Agro
3. Spike yellow's & Greens
4. Clean up blues
5. Hami
6. Yellow Dawn every 25%
7. Repeat Till Dead

BTW having the team leads on vent really helps

I also heard that they are using multiple Nukes to buff the raiders redside so that could work Blue side as well.

Good luck, have funm EVERYONE HAVE A RAPTOR PACK OR FLIGHT

This bit is one thing villains handle a lot more easily than heroes. Ain't nothin spikes control magnitude like 6-8 Doms.

yeah i remembered the troller part b/c thats all i would bring on those runs...and after i read through your notes all of it came back to me.....also remember to have someone with team tp for each team to get everyone back to cliff for the "respawn time" and re-buff time

I find it's far easier and more reliable for people to learn the timing and get out on their own, or send someone with Summon Teammates off behind a rock and pull the team out.

It's next to impossible to keep your team within 30' during the nucleus beatdown, and line up your exit path and make the 2-4 jumps fast enough to keep from dropping anyone.

I've seen people do it, in fact I did it myself, but that doesn't mean I think it's the best way.

I'd sooner bring Empaths to Red side and fight in the Abyss, since I like the zone a lot more. Except for the lack of a quick AoE regeneration buff, villains raids are easier to run.
