Click on the picture to see what I do (It's a youtube video on Pharmacy Technicians). It is not as bad as it seems, except I daydream about taking all narcotics home with me sometimes. I won't actually do it though because I like my job and I don't want to go to prison, but the dreams are still present. It must be like working at Fort Knox... You want to steal the gold, but you probably shouldn't try.

I opened my own business as a Translator/Editor when I graduated and started working from home. Was a lot of fun being able to tab between Word and CoH, but at one point I got *gasp* bored!

Back to the cubicle farms I went, sweet sweet isolation, muddled management and annoying co-workers.

I missed the annoying co-workers the most.

My work life is like this.....

ok well not really. I don't live in hawaii, or have a moustache. And none of my black friends own a helicoptor. But i do have the tigers hat.

Ok maybe a little more like this..

Of course i can't complain about work. 99% of my day involves playing video games on my laptop while stealing internets from unsecured wireless connections.

My work life is nonexistent. Friggin' economy.

(In before "I wish I didn't have to work". I'm almost 26 and live with my parents because I can't find a job 3 months and possibly longer after graduation, tell me again how awesome my life is.)

You're doin' it wrong. I haven't worked in nearly 3 years, don't live with my parents, and it's awesome. Every day is a party - wake up, play CoV, eat, play more, sleep when I feel like it.

As for my feelings on work: it needs doing. What more is there to say?

I only recently got my pharmacy technician certification... Until about 4 months ago, I = 22yo living on parents couch, partying every night, rolling on the weekends, and unemployed.

Now I = 22yo living in an apartment, partying every night, rolling on the weekends, and employed.

Pharmacy Technicians are needed all over. Get certified and you should have no trouble getting a job even with no experience. Just be willing to do it. Also, you can't have any felonies or drug related arrests... That's a no-no when it comes to handling oxys and adderal and it might stop you from getting certified. It isn't even expensive, man... Just do it.

Are you are looking for a cheesy job? Getting a little piece of paper saying that you are certified from some idiots who don't know what they are doing can raise your pay by a bunch.

You can always go to school and get somewhere with that if you want to get student loans and work on your free time.

Being a Security Guard is pretty easy to get, too. Sometimes they don't even give you a gun. And that rocks. You'll just be a mall cop who does school work while drinking coffee. Don't get me wrong, I hate cops, but I have no problem being a security guard. That **** is much easier. It's usually minimum wage, but after a while you'll figure out the ins and outs of all the cameras and security systems and you'll devise a plan to get away with theft of expensive merchandise and be able to get away with it because you'll have planned it out over a period of a couple months.

That's one of my reoccurring daydreams I keep having.

I didn't spend 8 damn years trying to get a Bachelor's degree just to work as a frigging security guard. I was seriously considering just going to graduate school until the economy improves or the world ends (I'm thinking it's 50/50 at this point) until I realized I did so crappy in school that no professor would give me a recommendation.

Yes, I get it, I'm a giant moron. Can we get off my failings and get back onto how the job market sucks?

well put your name in for something basic be it grocery/department store etc and get SOME sort of income flowing....even if it may seem like a lame job its probably better to go into a real interview with something inbetween school and work rather than large spans of time with nothing

This. There isn't much that an employer hates more than seeing a giant gap of "I'm too lazy to do anything" on an application. Now, it doesn't mean that you actually were too lazy to do anything, but that's the perception nonetheless. Better to tell them "Hey, I worked McDonalds because I'll do ANYTHING to get the job done" as opposed to "Well, that job is beneath me. I'm only gonna do what I like."

Okay, soo I have a question.

If I were to say that I have been self employed by selling things like clothes on eBay for almost a full year and have been making more money than I ever have a full time job, will an employer look at that and think I've done nothing for the past year like mentioned above? No paychecks, just the recipient of hundreds of paypal payments. I only have my job because I know the owner. I'm just wondering what my next employer will think when he asks me why I didn't have a job for almost a full year.

I mean. It's either tell the eBay story or say I saved up money from the Navy and went on a nation wide surf trip with intentions to surf every spot from the East coast < to > the West coast. Yes, I've actually done the eBay story, but I've heard enough stories from my dad about his coast to coast surfing road trip to pass it off as my own if on the spot.

t's been my experience that most employers don't have an issue with self-employment, as long as you don't tell them you own/owned a business. The latter tends to get them thinking "So...this guy's just gonna stick around until he gets his own business back off the ground?" The former, may or may not convey a desire and dedication to work, even in an environment not conducive to job hunting.

Welcome to my world! I do enjoy my job as a pill pusher as I like to call it, but if your not a people person, then this job isn't for you.

Also, if you can't handle dumb *** people in general, also this job is not for you.

If you don't like old people or people that stand or yell at you in person or over the phone, then stay away.

Don't get me wrong, I love my job, its rewarding when I stick it to the insurance companies, but all the same, wish I had another job.

As for your thing Moldy, my work does daily counts on things, things don't often walk off.

Ya, it would be quite interesting to see what would happen if we run out of oxys WAY too early and they decide to start pulling the cameras. I haven't done anything like that yet. I don't exactly plan to though because the pay is pretty nice.

I hate people, but I get to meet new people like this and that sort of thing on it's own makes me happy. Even though most of them have some really ****** up medications...

I actually kind of like my current job. But that wasn't always the case.

I've had several jobs over my moderately long lifetime. I've worked for a major themepark (don't talk to me about meeting idiots. I've met them all.) I've been part of the complaints department for a travel company (don't talk to me about talking to idiots. I've spoken to them all.) I've been a tour guide (combine both of the above with long, dull hours travelling.)

Currently I move boxes for a bookstore. A job my family calls "just my thing." I've got stable hours, I get to meet people and help them out and (the best part) the idiot ratio is fairly low.

Work may be a necessary evil but at least this time it doesn't seem like its out to get me.

What kind of stuff did you give tours of? I'm going to guess and ask if it was a jungle? ...I just finished season 5 of Lost and they just can't seem to get out of that jungle!
