Personally I'm so used to having such crappy options that I plan almost all of my Scrappers only taking one power from the epics.
To address the first point, Defenders usually get them early enough to warrant better slotting for Accuracy and Recharge as well as the Procs to make up for lack of Damage slotting. There is also the disparity in -Resistance debuffs that a lot of Defender sets have, which increases the damage of the Procs. With as late as Scrappers get the powers, the best they could do would be to 4-slot both of them, which leaves one wanting for attributes if they slot more than 2 Procs, especially considering the base recharge times on the Scrapper versions are about double the Defender versions (20 versus 10 seconds).

On the other point, I was hoping they would get around to having Scrapper and Tank Epics be relatively decent next to what some of the other ATs have. At least Blaze Mastery has Fireball. I would trade the entire Dark Mastery Pool for the version of Gloom and Darkest Night available in Soul Mastery. I am sure a lot of players would trade everything except maybe Fireball in Pyre/Blaze Mastery for Fire Cages.

well, it seems that scrappers APP's seem to be the most diverse between eachother,

Body = 1 auto buff, 1 toggle buff, 1 click buff, 1 ST range, 1 cone kd
Weapon = 1 trap, 1 toggle buff, 1 immob range, 1 ST range, 1 aoe range
Dark = 1 range hold, 1 ST range, and 3 cones 1dam,1immob,1kb
Blaze = 1 range immob, 1 range hold, 1 ST range, 1 range/aoe debuff, 1 aoe range

I will not comment on epics at this time. I will comment on born in battle requirement change, tier and defeat badge requirements lowered, and... being able to use the Greater Fire Sword for fire sword and fire sword circle. That's quality.

I looked at energize. It seems to heal for the same amount as reconstruction but has twice the recharge time. With the regen effect being enhancable and lasting for 30 seconds, it might help the set take the alpha. It kills the need for aid self for sure but I'm guessing its going to be like having FA with a slow recharging healing flames. At least until it gets IOed.

I will be skipping the tier 8 power for the first time ever on a scrapper when I hit 26 on my elec/regen. Looks like a good level to start the fighting pool.

All in all. This issue looks promising. The 5th are back to fighting council on the streets. Boss farms are dead. Accolades can be gotten easier. You get more merits for story arcs. Master of ITF challenge badge has been added.... The list goes on and on. Simply beautiful.

I didn't mention the difficulty slider because I figured that win goes without saying. You know, we being scrappers and all.

Sounds completely awesome so far.

....actually, that's all I have to say on it, it sounds awesome. Not a single thing mentioned here doesn't sound cool. Hell, even Nightfall sounds cool for my DM/DA to eventually take (he's the only one that will get it though) My main will be getting Physical Perfection, as he did not take Stamina and has slight end problems in extremely long fights.

On loading Test I realized that DarK Watcher's arc has too much Nemesis for my taste - not that they're too hard, but I wanted Rikti! So instead I loaded up Serpent Drummer's.

The result was, in a word, Glorious!

At this point, Power Customization borders on kind of nifty and completely usless for Dark Armor. Until the darkening pulse for Dark Armor is removed, it does little address the concerns regarding Dark Armor obscuring your character. To this end, Cloak of Darkness needs to be granted an alternate animation as well.

I've seen this grouping for Darkness Mastery a few time and I am beginning to wonder if I'm somehow reading it wrong.
  • Torrent (cone knockback with a ToHitdebuff weak S/L damage...seriously S/L?!?)
  • Petrifying Gaze (ST hold)
  • Dark Blast (ST ranged neg. damage with ToHitdebuff)
  • Tenebrous Tentacles (cone immobilize with ToHitdebuff and moderate neg. damage DoT)
  • Nightfall (cone moderate neg. damage DoT with ToHitdebuff)

Why did Darkness Mastery need another cone? Another DoT cone at that? Dark Obliteration would have been a better choice, IMHO. Tar Patch or Dark Pit I would have understood being as I never believed they'd give up Darkest Night.

I still would like to see the option to skip Tier 1 and Tier 2 epics.

Agreed. SHadow Meld would of been more useful as well. The cone is lacking. :/

As for CoD. It's a stealth power, it'd obscure you costume pretty much anyways. Admittedly, if it was a bit more like Shadowfall, you'd see your costume a bit more.

Never looked at the numbers on test, just played it and went by feel...

Electric Melee's single target damage feels weak stilll.

Then I looked at the numbers, Electric Melee for Scrappers does less damage than a brute at 65% Fury.

Do Criticals actually even this up? Or is ELM just set to be a weak ST set, with okay AOE?

I'm dying to know what they look like since I won't be able to log into Test for a couple weeks.

I took a look, great stuff was added, tried +4 8-solo specs... I did leave AVs as EBs but I didn't do a mission that had AVs in it.

Glad to say I performed up to expectations, just did a Werewolf World mission on Shado-Strike, my DM/SR. Shortly after starting I remembered "Oh yeah... these guys have increased resists to Dark"

Overall good experience.

The only thing I'm disgruntled about is the fact that Kheldians can't change any colors... Is it just me or does it look like the devs are trying to get people to stop playing them all together?

Or the more rational interpretation that they didn't have time to hit the EATs just like they didn't have time to hit power pools.

Be well, people of CoH.

This topic just made me resub. Bear with me for a second so I can get off my chest what I want to say since weeks : these new forums are awful. Meh.

Good thing I16 seems to be as awesome as the forums suck, though.

IMO the "new" animations for Martial Arts need a lot of work. I had thought when they said "all new animations" for this set, they meant "new" ... not recycling Impale/Stun etc. Changing to the "punchy" animations makes the set look really awkward and clunky. The flow and fluidity of the powers is not nearly as good.
