For you brutes with click mez protection...
I never put an attack on auto, but then I like pressing buttons.

Why MA ratings should be changed from stars to "like" or "dislike"
A better algorithm for ordering MA arcs
PB on auto until permahasten. Then hasten on auto. Otherwise PB fires off far more than needed.
Be well, people of CoH.
Usually when I have Hasten and, say PB, I'll put PB on auto. I'd rather miss out on a few attacks not recharging 70% faster than risk getting killed.
But that's just me

You will return, for you are the mighty City of Paragon, the City of Heroes.
On my /SR I have PB on auto. I am sometimes forgetful about pushing buttons, and I would rather miss a hasten anyday than miss PB. For that reason, and also I only have one tray visible at a time on my screen, so I put all armors, rarely used powers, Ouro/Pocket D things and auto powers off to tray 2 or 3.
Words to the wise aren't necessary- it's the stupid ones that need them.
"You're right...I forgot...being constantly at or the near the damage cap is a big turn off. Definitely not worth it."

PB on auto for me as well. Clicking brawl and/or boxing between real attacks is much less disruptive an experience for me than realizing as I see Held appear that PB lapsed 10 seconds ago just as I charged that Lost Anathema. Especially on a brute, where I spend more time watching my fury bar than my health or endurance.
Weight training: Because you'll never hear someone lament "If only I were weaker, I could have saved them."
Hasten on auto; the mez protection only gets on auto if the build doesn't have Hasten yet.
Instead I put the mez protection in a convenient and easily noticed spot on the tray (usually Alt-3 or Alt-4), so it's not going off in the middle of attack chains when all it would do is stack. I started doing that on my Ninjitsu Stalkers after it went off one too many times between Build Up and Assassin's Strike (I normally shove powers set on auto out of a visible tray, so didn't see that it was back), limiting the number of attacks I could get in the Build Up window and usually leaving me with a mob running off with a sliver of health that would've died otherwise. Changing to Hasten and manually clicking on the mez power worked well, so I just adopted it for everyone.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

I never put anything on auto. Click mez I usually bind to V and Hasten at Ctrl-4 or Alt-4. Reason is because one of my first characters was SR and I didn't know about the autofire feature so I just got used to hitting it whenever it came back up.
I put PB on Auto. None of my other brutes have anything on Auto during normal gameplay. On a SF/TF or non-stop type mission I might place Hasten or Rage on Auto if I remember.
What do you put on autofire?
I just made my first /SR brute, and for the life of me I can't figure out whether to put Practiced Brawler on auto, or a quick recharging attack (like Brawl). I have two other brutes, an /ELA and a /FA and I usually put a quick attack on auto. Then it occurred to me that with my /SR I might not want to do that...
Any advice for someone who's an old time brute player, but new to SR?
