Other than the User CP options of Default (ugly turqouise), Hero (ugly turqouise), and Villan (red), is there any way we can get the forums to appear blue like the old forums? It would be a whole lot easier on the eye. Thanks in advance.

If you're using Firefox with Greasemonkey, and you're really motivated, then yes, but it would be a PITA. Otherwise, you're pretty much stuck with what they're willing to put on the server.

Honestly, though, I do like this much better than the old forums. This is probably not optimal, but the old forums made my eyes bleed.

Zombie_Man I saw your hero skin and that looks great ... but I use IE and have no clue what Stylish is or where to put the code, lol, so I don't think that's going to work for me without a little extra tech help, heh. Thanks though, your hero skin looks like it would be great.

Install Firefox from Mozilla.org. It's free.

Generally, having both Internet Explorer and Firefox on your computer at the same time shouldn't be a problem. They will play the "Pick me! Pick me!" game with you, though, as they both want to be your default browser. Those little nag boxes can be disabled and you can switch which you want to be set as your prefered browser whenever you want.

The greatest benefit of Firefox is that you can download many, many add-ons to customize your browser--some more useful than others, like Stylish.

I'm looking in to converting it for IE7Pro...

How about, no thank you. I have my reasons, but this isn't the place to discuss them.

Anyway, for people who, for whatever reasons, are using IE7, if you install IE7Pro, You can download or install my version of Zombie_Man's Villains Skin Mod. Note that the install link will only work if you've already installed IE7Pro.

I disabled Zombie_Man's elimination of the background pic of the signature heroes, because I like that there. If you don't, just uncomment the lines under the Eliminate background pic of the forum (sig heros) comment.

One thing to note: The page will load and look like nothing has changed. IE7Pro applies the changes after the page has loaded. Give it a second or two, and you'll see the change happen, literally.

I guess next I need to do the Hero version...

Edit
OK, Hero version is done! Download or install it, and enjoy!

Firefox with AdBlock Plus, NoScript, and Firebug (if you're a developer) is a life saver, and I don't mean the breath mint. Over the years, they have protected me from all kinds of nastiness, and browsing the web without them is like downloading and running questionable software without a virus scanner.

With the improvements they've made lately in the scripting engine and other features, Firefox is simply the gold standard in browsers, period.

True story: At work, against the wishes of our desktop support group, I have Firefox installed on my workstation and I use it as my default browser. I've had a lot of people ask me, "That's not Internet Explorer, what is that?" Over the years, I've gotten so used to the question that I have a stock nickel tour explanation. I show them various features. Everyone I've told about it is amazed, a bunch have installed it at home as their default browser, and everyone that I know who has tried it is solidly converted now. Many have spread it to their own family and friends. Almost everyone in the office now also has it installed on their workstations.

Get it. Use it. Be happy.

Love the smilie, Mateo.

Fine. I tried to be nice, but everyone had to come say, "Get FireFox!" Ya know what? Screw FireFox. I have no use for it.

I HATE when people attempt to shove something they like down my throat. Just because YOU don't like IE doesn't mean other people don't.

My prefered browser, Maxthon, has a WONDERFUL built in ad blocking system. I have YET to see a browser that can match it out of the box. And yes, I can stop scripts with it, too.

I wasn't going to say anything like that. Now I have. I hope you're all happy.

What about us Google Chrome users?

I'm using IE8 because I'm using Win7 and haven't gotten around to installing another browser. I'm actually liking 8 better than what I was using previously.

Did you ever try Firefox?

I used Maxthon for a while but it crashed a lot and slowed down my computer.

I used to use Internet Explorer because it used to do what I wanted and worked well. Then IE7 came along and won't let me remove things that it wants to do that I can't stand.

I switched to Firefox and it works and does what I want and doesn't do what I don't want. My only gripe is that I have to install a bunch of add-ons from third parties to get functionality that I think are basic usability concerns and I'm a little leery of that. I haven't seen that kind of customization available from IE.

Learn to relax. 5 cents, please.

Now, now. As annoying as FireFox users are pushing their Messianic browser, don't blind yourself to the truly heavy armed and despotic tactics Google is using every chance they get to take over a PC with their aggressiveware.

Next time you use Google Earth and discover that Chrome is your new default browser, don't say you haven't been warned.

Hi Guys,
well apart from anything else I got to change my font because at a quick glance this thread title seems to be sexually explicit

Yes, I have, in fact, tried FireFox.

Maxthon Classic has had quite a few improvements, and I can't remember the last time it crashed, and it's never slowed my system.

There are only two things I use from Google: Their search page, and their e-mail. I don't have a use for anything else from them, and I NEVER install ANY kind of ToolBar from anyone.

I have intentionally installed one browser toolbar, ever. And that was the Developer Toolbar extension to Firefox, which I've used extensively for web development
