Need help, COH not working
You could roll back to an older driver, or try the solutions in Tease's stickied post about Vista/Win7/Server08 Crashes at the top of this forum section.
That was a common problem with the previous driver. Many had success with the 185.85 driver.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

So, what driver version is 185.85 is that the old version, that I'll be rolling back to, or is it a diffrent version than what I have now? I have version 8.15.11.8635. . . If I roll it back, is that going to cause problems w/other apps? Is that a permanent solution "The roll back" or does COH release a patch to fix for that driver?
nVidia is the one that will need to release a fix, since it is their driver that is broken. Some are reporting good results with the current driver, but I've seen other problems as well. The driver you currently have is the 186.35 driver. Just look at the last 5 digits in the version number.
Don't just roll back the driver, do a full uninstall, boot to Safe Mode, run DriverSweeper to remove all Display Drivers, cancel all driver installs once you reboot to normal mode, then install the 185.85 drivers.

Is 185.85 newer than. . . 186.35, seems that way by the numbers.
No. It is older. By a month or so? But, the 185.85 worked where the 185.35 didn't. Which is why you go back to a driver that worked.

How long do you think it will take for Nvidia to fix this, so that COH will work? What has to happend? Do I have have to let Nvidia know of the problem, does the COX tech support let them know? Or is it one of those, roll back, because it could be awhile?
No we don't but since Win 7 isn't officially available until Oct 22 I would say nVidia has some time.

You could try the 190.38 drivers released in late July. They've been great for me. (Just remember to reset your digital vibrance setting after you get them installed.)
What's digital vibrance settings?
Also, I tried to roll back the drivers, the regular way, then uninstalled them, when it didn't work that well. Then, my OS gave me back the 185.55 (i think) the bad ones...

- Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
- Reboot your PC in Safe Mode. Make sure you logon as Administrator.
- Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
- Reboot normally and install the new drivers.

I did all the steps you said, except I couldn't find where you change to log in as admin. I set my account up as admin, so that should matter right? So, after doing the steps, I still am loading at an EXTREMELY slow pace. I play BF2142 and don't have the lag issue, but with COH, I do have a problem. What else could be going on? I noticed the driver fix, fixed things that were messing up in my BF2142 game, but no fix to COH. Should I uninstall, reinstall COH?
DAMN this is HIGHLY annoying...I can't play the game b/c of this stupid *** driver crap, and it's pissing me off.

One thought though. Did you actually uninstall the Window's Update that started all of this?

Not sure what you mean by uninstalling the windows update that started it. I Did all that you said; however, as I am getting help from COH IT as well, they said,
"3.Locate NVIDIA Drivers and click it. Make sure that you only uninstall the Display Drivers.
(Do not uninstall any NVIDIA nForce chipset drivers as this will cause system instability.)
This concerns me, b/c in the Drive sweeper it has Nvidia chipset to get rid of too, and I checked it. So, does that mean I have to find and DL and re-install my Nvidia chipset?
I can't find any such chipsets with Nvidia title in my Uninstall programs menu either. I even went back to 185.85 and it still isn't working.
4.Click the Change/Remove button.
5.On the NVIDIA Uninstall window, click the Yes button to continue.
6.Once the drivers have been uninstalled, allow your computer to reboot.
7.Upon boot up, the Windows® Hardware Wizard will appear. Cancel out of it (you may have to twice if your card supports a secondary display).
8.Install the latest video drivers by running the installer you downloaded from NVIDIA.
9.Reboot once more to complete the installation process.
I've done everything that ya'll here and the COH tech team have told me, and yes it fixed the black screen; however, nothing has fixed the LONG LOAD times. First to get to the log in and pass screen. Second, to go from the server to the toon selection screen. Then, from picking the toon to the load screen for the map, which takes so LONG that I just kill the game so I can use the comp. again. What could be causing this issue?
Okay, let's 'start over' so to speak. Post the results of CohHelper and HijackThis. Links are in my signature.

I had the exact same problem you are describing, but on my newly made Test.
Here, this thread...

TweakCoH fixed my error, it seemed to be something in the default display resolution.
That's my best guess anyhow, maybe this will help you too.
I basically just ran TweakCoH, and from it set my Display to Fullscreen, and same resolution I run my desktop at.. Test opened fine for me after that, the black screen was replaced with the old "BLue Background, Heroes Approaching" login screen as normal.

This was the latest patch on my Windows 7 OS for my drivers. Since patching everytime I load COH I get all the sound for the load up screen but no Picture, just a black screen. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix/troubleshoot?
