I think to be fair to the Devs, GR deserves the content. The whole point of GR is to shore the game up against CO, and to really compete against the new hero MMOs that are imminent. To give a lot of free content just before a huge paid expansion would not be good business sense.
Arguably it would discourage existing subscribers from buying the new box and it's very important for the health of the game that as many people as possible do that.
Remember (and I'm as critical as any of you when I feel it justified) that Issues are FREE updates and as such we should be grateful for them - and if you look at 2009 in the round, despite the problems with MA and lack of substance in I15, by the time the end of year comes we'll have had 3 free updates, and a very big paid expansion with lots of content. That's not actually bad for an MMO with a relatively low monthly sub.

It always nice when something creates a bit of a buzz in the game... but can we put a rush on the demon summoning and dual pistols please, for those of us not so interested in looking good and like the game for actual game play? I understand that a strong point of this game is the fantastic character creator, and its a good thing that this is being updated to stay ahead of the competion, however my point still stands:
I dont play toons because they look good. I play them because I enjoy the game play.

Now, here I both agree and disagree with you. Yes, it's great that GR appears to be getting a lot of content BUT, what about people who don't buy GR? There are bound to be some, so what new content is there going to be for those guys?
Sure, you can say that it should only be for the paid pack, but that IS contrary to how things have always been done here with issues. If that's the way things are going now, would be kinda nice to know, y'know?

This has been argued many a time. Whilst we don't pay EXTRA for issues, technically, they are NOT free. They're paid for by a portion of the money we each pay every month as part of our subs.
And yes, 3 free updates. Updates with almost zero actual story content beyond a tiny TF for i15. Great, unless you don't buy GR. In which case, less great.

Come on now, the new difficulty settings are great for farmers - fire/kin on one account, perma 46 on the other, spawns set for 8 - just invite the level 1 of your choice and fire away

I think they'll get something - if GR is launched the same way as CoV, then there'll be a free Issue along with the paid for expansion.
And while power sets are usually big features, Demon Summoning the Dual Pistols will actually be pretty small compared to the new zones, missions, side switching mechanic and so on, so it's possible they might be inlcuded in the free GR Issue, while the big stuff is in the paid for GR box.

Well the Broadcast spam begging for members to join an AE team is sort of begging for fillers - it's just more general, rather than the personal touch of a /Tell

But this new challenge feature really is very good for everyone - because i think I the majority of players who are anti farmers are only against the disruption they cause, like Broadcast spam, begging /Tells, giving new players a bad impression and so on - so allowing them to PL like a full team but with only the required number of ATs is really good - the farmers can farm, and it won't impact on the non-farmers nearly as much as it does now, and it'll also save the farmers the hassle of having to put together a full team for their PL runs, so everyone'll be happy.

I read it as being able to change your AT powers whilst levelling your character.

I think it is nothing more than that you will perhaps get a tabbed interface in the costume creator instead of a step-by-step interface. No need to do things in a specific order anymore.

I pay 130 Euro per year for playing this game in subscriptions, I would certainly not consider these updates free updates. If they were actually free, none of the money I pay would actually go to new development and only cover operational costs.
