Remake Mercy Island

I find doing the missions on Mercy makes me want to spork someone's eyeballs out.

But then, I long ago gave up on the standard missions in Atlas/Galaxy/KR, too (apart from doing just enough to get Negotiator so that I don't have to wait until after I've done Ubelmann).

DCUO and CO will never see my money. The Citygame will keep seeing my money for as long as I keep enjoying it

Although if the zone design's such that a lot of people ignore it and farm freerange mobs so they can leave as quickly as possible, it does suggest something's not right.

[/ QUOTE ]

Without meaning to sound like a cheerleader here, I've never farmed mobs to leave Mercy quickly. I find doing the missions gets me to Port Oakes within an hour or two, depending on characters/team size.

Edited to reflect incorrect "everyone".

No one just starting out wants to run for 3-5 minutes just to get to a mission and as has already been mentioned,

[/ QUOTE ]

Treat the journey as a mission. Take your time, look at the scenery, and fight the mobs you encounter along the way. It will be more fun, and you will gain a couple of levels in the process.

but a game needs to grow the player, the player doesn't need to grow in order to play the game.
to make that simple, the game needs to level you while you are playing, but the current mercy(and some atlas and galaxy mission) sends you across the whole map with enemy's 3x stronger then you around there.
as it is, there are design flaws, and they need to be fixed.

Dark Astoria I'm thinking you mean the fog, but thats not really a massive zone change, thats just a switch on/off :P

[/ QUOTE ]

No, I don't mean the fog.

I mean give us a few story arcs set in Dark Astoria which detail out exactly what happened, with an attempt to fix it (which fails, of course).

The look of the zone is fine, although I'd love the buildings and vehicles to actually look like they belong (20's architecture - it looked horrible when the fog was accidentally removed a while ago)

[/ QUOTE ]

It needs Bloody Bay style gothic buildings, with the same narrow, winding streets - it also needs a hole knocked in one of the war walls to let the sea in a bit to create an area of swampy land for voodoo rituals - and it also needs mist spirits that fade in and out of the fog to attack you

If you fight mobs you encounter on route, the mobs near the mission won't be 3x your level, because you will have leveled up a couple of times on route. the game is designed arount the idea that you will street hunt (and hence, grow) between missions. Mercy is a great place for street hunting.

I really should do something about this signature.

And you also end up with a grey conning mission that is nothing short of boring.
Hence cutting out the middle man and simply street sweeping from the get go

Not if you make a point of visiting the fateweaver first.

Again, depending entirely on where your mission is. Some of the ones out along the coast and docks area mean the fateweaver would be a large detour on an already too long trip.
