This ideais more use for the ppl who like to franenslot their toons and take time and pride in it and also for those who PvP. this is a good idea. personally i would like it if i ever have to resolt my ice/kin troller

Not sure how it helps a frankin sloter as surly the best tool for them is mids that way they can see what bonuses there getting from where and switch around IOs till they get the best balance.
If anything there's probably merit to the idea of a slot respec where your powers would remain the same but you could move slots about but that could be a coding nightmare for all we know

There's no way of knowing for sure, but that seems unlikely; a slot respec could be pretty much implemented just by starting the existing respec system on the 2rd screen, a enh-only respec by coming in straight to the 3rd screen.
Some work would be needed to handle the new respec tokens, but as far as the respec procedure itself's concerned most of the functionality's there already.
The Exemp system shows that the game does remember at what levels your character got powers at, but not slots. So for a "reslottification" it shouldn't be too fiendish to implement.
I've got to also go against anyone saying Mids is good enough to tell you how your character will play with different slots. Mids is great and all but it really doesn't compare to trying something out ingame. For example my Staminaless Grav/TA build, I had little idea how that would work even with a full mids build. Or how bad an idea a PROC in Ice Arrow really is.

Firstly: I agree with this entirely. Mids is great, but the numbers don't convey how a build plays.
But there's more than that: Mids is a 3rd party piece of software.
It should not come into consideration in the least bit when the issue of respecs is considered. Many players won't have Mids (or another build program) and many won't want a piece of 3rd party software.
It'd be very different if Mids or an equivalent was provided by NC (whether as an integrated part of the client or as a standalone program) - then there would be case to argue that the tools are provided to help minimise build 'errors'.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes but my idea to get round that was to only ever allow 1 respec from the same contact, however once that respec that was earned has been used up, then you'd have to repeat the taskforce to get another one. So in the same way, you'll never have anymore than 3 earned respecs at any one time available.
[/ QUOTE ]A solid suggestion, one that I would agree too... but then you would need to know what respec you were using, so that you don't attempt the wrong respec trial (wasting time for the wrong result), which would mean more work for the devs... so on that basis it wouldn't get recoded, even though this sounds like the best option all round IMO.
