Back to the OP:

I think there are 2 separate things going on here -

1) In any fora there's the "in crowd" and the rest. This one's relatively small and has a significantly larger in group than many I've been on. We also tend to be less forgiving of those who we feel should know better - so we can get pretty heated amongst our more established posters and/or those who a) haven't bothered reading anything before posting the stupid question of the week - yet having a post count of 3 or something. (Recent example is the "server merge" thread I saw here this weekend.)

2) A lot of players sign up for the forums and then forget about it. Then, when called on it "Well it was in the forums, why didn't you check it out?" their response is never "I'm too lazy to look." Instead, as a normal face-saving reply it's "they are intimidating."

Also, most games have forum(s).XXXX.com as their forum part, for many easier to get to. Why not do the same here? :?

*looks at url uk.boards.cityofheroes.com*

*looks more confused than normal*

I don't find these boards that scary, especially compared to some... most other forums.

I just don't post often because (1) I'm lazy, and (2) I try to keep my my inanity to a managable level.

Yes, the UK CoH forums are scary indeed....

With defiant events and the badgers in-game and "what's on..." hardly being updated I just stopped looking for events in the forum. I think most people did once Bridger stopped updating the threads.

Now, anyone that can handly the EBs and AVs shouldn't possibly really be scared by the forums even if some people(are they really people?) are rather... ...unusual!

While we have the occasional know-it-all/jerk/idiot, I can safely say this forum is better than most forums.

Heck, it's even more friendly than my SG forum. Not that my SG is bad, though...

Neko, any forum is a giant hug and cuddle compared to announcing yourself as a new player on the WoW forums.
