Is there interest in a Heal Farm?

Was pondering the possibility or if there was any interest for some Gladiator Healing farm. (Still lack Medicine woman and Empath on my main badger)

To be part of this you need the 400 pvp badge (which gives you the nice warden 2 gladiator... the one that can heal).
And many... many... other cheap gladiators.

So far I have envisioned us to be in 2 big teams and when its up, leaving our warden 2's to heal the other gladiators (it will be a lot of passive heals) during the night (while we go afk, grabbing sleep, work or whatever seems to be pressing matters, while the gladiators heal).

The more the merrier (and quicker to get the heal badges)...If there is an interest then it would be easy to get one started, if not, oh well...

I say again you need the following:
Warden 2 Gladiator (From getting 400 pvp rep)
Cheap gladiators... like outcasts or cogs.
And
Willingness to keep the computer on for the duration.

Well its.. sort of Priority need though Unless you want to give more targets to heal for other players?
The Gladiator Warden 2 is the only one with an area heal, thats why its a basic tool for the farm i had in mind...

Could you do this by leaving your character AFK with an AOE heal on auto?

I dont think so as i dont think you can use your own powers in a Gladiator match. You are limited to controlling the actions of the pets with the MM controls. As Lady A said the Longbow Warden 2 is the only one that has an AoE heal and so (in a glad match) probably the most effective way of getting healing badges.

Using your own powers would need you to be in Arena match or PvP zone, and that would also meen you'd need more players involved which makes the whole process harder and more long winded. Tho as it seems its not exactly jumping with 400+ pvp rep folks in here :P

Quite true Crimson.
Oh well, I'll just have to ask more in Sals badgehunters then...
As said, this kind of farm is "The more the merrier" or "The more, the faster"
Even though Empath has been reduced to 100 million, it will still take some time... with two.
So thanks for the interest... good luck to you who will work for "Disruptor" (400 pvp badge).

I know both me and Justa Girl are up for it, just not sure when. Try to get to me ingame and Ill sort out an eve that me and Justa can both do regularly.

Be nice to get a few more involved though. Seems the "die hard" badgers are dying a bit too easily lately!

I would be interested in a heal farm as well. Have the disruptor badge on my badger main. Just depends on when this is being run.

Seems most jst can't be bothered to farm for PvP badges really, or have no interest in PvP itself and choosing to go for the low hanging fruit.

Well I did give a little hint on how to get that pvp badge in the recent thread. It just takes active dedication, time and constant doing. Say if you choose Warburg, bring every alt lvl 30 and above (so do your badger friends). Then time the kills in order (10 min wait until same Badgerchar can "kill" that char).
Just like every farm badge... it takes time
(Shudder as i realize i should start doing this on my mm and my emp)

But knowing that we are 4 people that are interested goes a long way.
I was thinking of doing one night, mostlikely a weekday?

Yes Sal... we need to turn that trend (die hard badges dying)... I know we will get more players for this if they get their Disruptor badge... (ponder)

This sound like a really good plan, im not sure if its the same as what you said over in the PvP Farm thread or if i was reading wrong, but here it seems clear to me. Or i think it does anyway. As a scenario, 2 people with say 5 toons above lvl30 could park the toons in a spot in Warburg and then kill > log alt > kill > log alt and so on? If that is the idea then its great

Just out of interesnt, how much rep do you get per kill when solo?

All of it - the exact amount depends on the targets rep but starts at 1 if they have none.

another suggestion - everyone starts a one man TF so that auto logoff disables, stands in a huge crowd hero's and villains alike in a Co-op zone and leave heals on auto

This is a good idea to get the heal badges. My badge toon is on Defiant and I have done the gladiator matches to try to farm heals.

From what I have seen myself, the Warburg alt idea is good, from memory, with kills, logging off and on, 4 or 5 alts is ideal per player to get around the timer issue of not getting a rep point for repeat kill inside 10 minutes. Find it best to have inspirations full of wakeys, just to avoid having to go to hospital.

Also, I think there is a Rep bonus possible if one toon with a low rep score gets a kill gainst a toon with a higher rep skill. i think the bonus was 5 rep points and I think the gap had to be 20 rep points. With only 2 people, you cannot get nor maintain such a gap if you each have roughly the number of alts involved, but it will act as a good boost if 1 toon achieves the 400 needed and another toon is just starting out and can log kills against the toon with the 400 rating.

On the gladiators themselves, the Longbow healers attacks have knockback, which means when Longbows on opposing teams start healing and attacking, they themselves can suffer knockback and their radius heals do not reach their teammates.

Also, low ranking gladiators to heal do run the risk therefore of dieing before being healed and you need more than just the Longbow doing attacks to cause damage to heal, so you run the risk of one side beating the other by loosing squishy gladiators over time, even on a match set to kill all to win.

You may be able to fix this if you get some gladiators to attack 1 tough target, I don't know, I have not experimented enough yet.

I have heard that the Neuron robots are good for damage as they tick relatively low rad damage that I have heard works well, and Im not sure, but may not be knockback. They do cost a bit though, when taken with Longbow Warden too, not much left over to spend.

Map wise, a nice tight map to avoid knockback effects works best I have found. My favourite I have found so far is the ship map. There is a dead end oblong passage, which at the maps edge, each side facing each other along the long edges of this oblong, at the blue map edge, not the entrance, works well.

I would like to try more of the maps, but when I recently tried 2 accounts in window mode in the arena in Pocket D, my computer kept locking up for some strange reason when the match went to start.

Anyway, good luck if you get this to work, be interested in any good hints and tips you find.

Perfect setup we are now using:

Cargo ship map

3 Longbow warden 2 gladiators, fill team with as many low glads as we can

4-5 man team against 1 person

Set glads to go to corner and set defensive and "goto" corner

No attacks from either team needed.

From 3 eves on this setup, Ive bagged 13 mil healing, and my teammates have got even more (I crashed 1 night!!!!)


It's a badge thing.......

You have the LBW2s target the other character - not their glads - that way you only get the heals and no attacks to risk killing another mob. Everything else on passive.

There was a thread about this on the US boards about a year ago - the main thing was whether 2 or 3 LBW2s was better and it largely boiled down to the size of the two teams - smaller teams e.g. 4v4 tend to be better with 2 healers and more being healed 7v1 I think may have been more the 3 warden route.
Also villainside the outcast slugger allows a team 1 bigger if you have it - this will increase the total amount of healing - still need about 40 iirc on Deadly

I got the pvp badge on my emp but i dont think i could dedicate to an entire night. Would it matter if i left the match after a few hours say?
If not i'll make the next one.

I havent got them targeting anything. As I said, set to "goto".

Seems to be working fine.

And Damz, I would think that would be ok mate. Pm me to get info on next one. We are after inf while double xp is on, so wont be until after.
