Hi!
I think ChristopherRobin might have mentioned this tip before. If you are using the pencil tool (or any other aliased tool) for your lineart, it's a good idea to make your "working" file two to four times larger than the size that you want for the finished file. I think the result will be smoother lines when you shrink it back down at the end of the project.

For example if the finished size of the lovely Ellie artwork above is 526 pixels wide, it is a good idea to draw and paint it at a size of about 1052 or 2104 (approximately) then when you are finished, save it and then reduce it down to 526 pixels wide and save it as a separate file (so you still have the larger file in case you wish to return to it).

I hope it's ok for me to post an example. It's not 100% polished up but hopefully you can see the pixels on the left side and somewhat smoother lines on the right:

Just in case people are wondering... Currently I've decided to practice just a little more before finishing Shikome's (Gray Hawk) request (girl with the bow) as I seemed to have lost my style a little. And it worked! I've got it back! Realistic.. but not too much..so you can still see it's not a picture...but more of a painting instead...*lookes pleased*
To prove it.. here's a sneak peak at what I've got sofar.


No promise...but I think I'll have another go at colouring Gray Hawk tomorrow
I used this for references, but using different lighting.

I just finished my entry for the FArt Battle !! So here it is!

It was quite a challenge for me to nót go into detailing *giggles*. Had to constantly tell myself that to make sure I wouldn't!
But I wanted to give a more "cartoonish" way of drawing and colouring a shot. And I might as well try and make it an entry for the FArt Battle and hopefully finish it in time for the early bird points (I did!!).

Somehow.. this drawing turned out better than I'd expected!
Now, let's hope the voters of FArt will think the same

I've been getting the comments that Mr. Statesman should be blonde...
Which, imo, is odd because in my "research" he turned out to be dark-haired...
But... for those who think he should be blonde...


Personally, I'm gonna stick with the brown-haired Statesman .

Beautiful work, Miss DD!

I am pretty sure that Marcus Cole *is* dark-haired. It certainly looks that way from all the posters of him in Praetoria!

I also think that he would look much more nom-worthy if he had cat ears, a tail, whiskers, paws, and nice blue-grey fur.

But that's just me.

I am SOOOOOO in agreement with Sapph that Miss Mynx would have been a nommy treat (ART treat, Sapph! ) for your many fans. She *is* the only signature heroine worth a darn and is lots more adept than her sidekick, Synopsis!
