The idea: When you create a new character you are given the option to chose either regular or pvp character. The difference being that the pvp character is only allowed travel within the pvp zones/arenas and not into the "gaming world" as such.

More specific? When the player has chosen the pvp character option you are sent straight to the costume creator screen. All options are unlocked. Chose your starting powersets and then choose the pvp zone you'ld like to enter.

What about my power choices? In each zone in the hospital, there will be a pvp character level up contact (that works similar to the way multi builds work) in which you can now select ALL of your powers from level 1 to 50 (slots also). Once powers are chosen you are now sent to the enhancement screen. A list will appear with all STANDARD IOs/SOs for you to freely chose your enhancements from and slot as desired. These are all free (exploits stated later). Once you are happy with your slots its ready to pvp!

What if i want to travel to another pvp zone though? Well obviously a portal of some sort would have to exist in each zone that will teleport you to the desired zone.

What about costume changes/character respecs though? I cant claim them in pvp! Look at rewards for costume changes. My idea is that pvp characters can simply click on the lvl up contact in the zone and instead of a normal respec in which you change around your slots/powers, you now have the option to chose entire new powersets!!! This would be restricted to the AT youv chosen available powersets. To avoid exploits this could only be achieved via the following rewards below.

So what about pvp rewards? For a starter/introduction to rewards every 10 player control characters you defeat earns you 1 free costume change.
Similarly for power respecs you now get the option for a complete power respec for every 20 kills you get (too low or too high?). Power respec would be limited to once every 24 hours to avoid constant switching.
Everytime a player character is defeated, the person who defeated said player will get the level up bonus (max health/endurance) but without the tier 3 inspirations. If this is deemed as too much then possibly tone it down to 50% health/endurance return per kill. This should make teamed battles more interesting and give a SMALL chance to players that are outnumbered if they can get a kill in quickly.
Finally every player you defeat gives off "pvp merits" in which you can trade in costume pieces, temp powers, unlockable pvp missions and recipe rolls.

So what about regular characters? Well the regular characters can have the advantage by being able to use IO SETs in their builds and thus frankenslotting their toons to maximise potential. Unfortunately it'll mean they wont be able to use the power respec character.

Exploits? Pvp characters can NOT trade with anybody. This is to stop players trading enhancements. To stop people farming pvp merits, i'ld suggest a timer on each player.
Player A defeats player B
Player A earns 1 pvp merit (3 if its the bounty)
Player A cannot earn another merit from killing player B for another 5 minutes
Player C can still earn merits from B if he can defeat him.
Player B can earn merits the same as usual.

Well thats my suggestion on how to improve pvp imo, tell me what you think and whether it'ld be well suited or not

I have said this would be a good idea for a while to my mates now, cause i played GW religously before CoH and they had that option and it does truly rock to just make a pvp toon and start pvping. Although i like this idea i doubt it will considered because afterall CoX wasn't built for pvp and anyway i dont think many people want to pvp now lol

Tbh I like this idea. I hardly ever PvP because my main is built for PvE and I don't want to change that. Yes I could create a multi-build but the enhancements for it are going to be damned expensive and I am still slotting my PvE build anyway.

Being able to create a PvP character that can only move in PvP zones, has all powers available and free enhancements would create the balance that the devs are looking for. If that were to happen then the people with characters slotted to high heaven with billions of inf worth of enhancements would be on a more level playing field for people like me who still have mostly SO's slotted.

Make the characters level free (i.e. start at lvl 50 or just don't have a level) and then it would be true PvP relying on skill as opposed to BvB where a lot of the time people win purely based on the slotting of their build.

It might lure a few non PvP'ers into trying out PvP. I wonder if it is worth the time developing this though. Speaking for myself I don't think it would make me want to PvP more.

So, basically, you want to give people the ability to enter the game and do nothing but PvP. They would never have to level a character. All the content NCNC (and Cryptic) have put into the game would be totally wasted.

And then you take away their ability to use IO sets, putting them at a tactical disadvantage against existing players, who have had to create PvP characters from scratch, and who can now have an exen easier time of it, due to dual builds.

That about cover it?

Really don't like this idea.

It's completely trivialising the level-up process and making pvp even *less* about build. It almost turns PVP into a first-person-shooter with some character creation options.

With an instant 50 you also won't generate that attachment to a character that you only get from sustained levelling.

PVP needs sorting, but not by making it so anyone can create an account full of 50's in an afternoon IMHO

The disadvantage a toon made this way would have over one made or already made in the normal way.

I left out your bit about content as i cant be seen to agree wit hyou to much you know
