Since they've already got a board, they will need some time to copy everything over. That does take a while.

No it doesn't. Preparing the migration scripts WILL take a while, especially testing of them etc, but once everything is ready, it'll just be a matter of running a script. The actual transfer of the data won't take more than a few minutes top.
