I'll admit this is a Option I would like to see in the game, had a duo SG called the Demonic Guardians but the name sounded so out of place with the Toons we had (Was a hand-me down SG) so we had to change to a new sg and had to restart the base all over again.

As an old player such as Spawnus I have faced the same situation a few times, specially with thematic SG wich becames empty usually as soon as everybody on them have turned 50...

Well, I know this may not be the most favoured of options, but: The sounds like a job for Micropayment Man.
You can pay to change the name of your character, why not let the SG leader pay to change the name of the SG.

I've inherited two SG's, one on each side. The one blueside is fine, but the redside one was named after the groups founder and I'd rather I had the ability to change it.

Micropayments would work for me. As would the Global handle style "change it one time only" facility. I'd even wash Positron's socks and pants if it meant we could have this.

/Signed, but not pay. Paying for renaming the characters, IMO, is a bit much, really. Its your character, I dont see why you should be stuck with things if you dont like it. but hey, way of the world.

Sounds good, although perhaps with a proviso that after name-change a character gets a system message that the SG name has been changed. You know, in-case there are any instances where you log-on, turn up at a large gathering of your fellow heroes only to find in horror that you are in-fact second in command of Onion CheeseMeisters.

Am I right in thinking LoTRO does exactly this?
/signed, I'd rather pay for an SG rename than a character one to be honest (if I find I don't like a character name, I know it by level 10 and delete them), I've been left as the only active member of an SG before now - I'd certainly have paid a little to take full ownership with a name I chose.
I see no reason why this shouldn't be implemented, and micropayments is an incentive for them to actually DO it.

Honestly, I can't remember, but I think you may be right. LotRO was something of a dissapointment to me, and I think I'm trying to blank it out mostly.

This is part suggestion, part plea: I would be extremely grateful for the introduction of a facility that allowed SG leaders to rename their SG. It needn't be a biggie, maybe something like the Global handle change: you have one opportunity, but at least you have that chance. Having built a base and accumulated all the personal items etc. you don't want to delete everything and start from scratch, but let's face it; sometimes we make spelling mistakes, choose inappropriate names, or just pick something that's just bleh. Time helps us realise we should have done better, and it would be nice to get an opportunity to put it right.
