[ QUOTE ]
ok so we know it aint coming out this week and that it will be out next week but which day?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, we don't. And anyone who bets on any other day but Tuesday is likely to lose.
[/ QUOTE ]
We do now
[ QUOTE ]
Look for our complete interview with Miller on Monday, where he opens up on a number of other topics, from next week's Issue 13 update to microtransactions and what took so long to find capes to fit users on the Mac.
[/ QUOTE ]
Linky to today's interview.
And yeah, I'm betting on Tuesday too
(Apologies if this has already been linked. My Search Fu went to bed early!)

release an issue devoted to Mission Architect
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's just MA, Posi, then CoX is going to be doomed, really, because CO/DCUO open beta is going to be just after that.
Now the first "I14 can handle MA on its on" interview is backed up with this.
It's definetely not set in stone, but if I14 is just MA, then I can see a LOT of people turning around and heading off.
Anyway, back on topic, it's been said next tuesday from Tellis post so thats the time it realases, unless some major bug comes around and they have to delay it. And it's been long enough waiting tbh. Roll on 2nd December!

this is the best i could find it just says early 09 which i guess is Q1 but i did read something else that said Q1 so there could be another interview out there
[/ QUOTE ] I think you're misreading the interview slightly. When Positron mentions next year, he's talking about when I13 WOULD have been released if the Mission Architect had been kept in the issue.
This is the part which mentions dates:
We had always wanted to do this, but the development time needed to accomplish this would have pushed the entire Issue 13 into 2009, which we didn't want to do. In the end we took everything else that was in Issue 13 (and added a few new features) and are releasing that this Fall, and in early 2009 we will release an issue devoted to Mission Architect, complete with "customize the boss" and other features that the players felt so passionate about.
[/ QUOTE ]
just re-read my post and i was referring to the release of I14, which is supposedly releasing in Q1 but my guesses are MA will be the main feature with more base stuff and smaller QoL issues addressed

This would be correct, we already know that they work on two issues at a time, the MA was nearly finished for I13 but they were planning on releasing the additions it was held back for at a later date.
Most of the work that would have gone on I14 will still be in I14, about all that the MA will be replacing is a few missions that will be released 2-3 months later in issue 15 (Which I'm willing to bet they're working on now.)
Where are we losing out?
[ QUOTE ]
2-3 months
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering how long the timespace between I11-I12 and now I12-I13, I wouldn't guess so.

We already know i14 is coming out in the first quarter of 2009. In case you didn't know, there are 3 months in a quarter, so 2-3 months is likely correct. Personally, I'd expect to get it on test sometime in February.

You are neglecting the fact that they've doubled the size of the team working on CoX in that period. If you were expecting this to take effect immediately, that's because you don't understand how these issues work in a development cycle. Generally, they are finalising and beginning work on the feature set for two issues ahead of where we are when they release each issue. Building up the team affects the schedules two issues in the future, rather than the issue they are 'working on' now.

From a financial standpoint November ends this coming Friday, not to mention we were warned it could be held back until they were satisfied with the PvP changes (Don't go there anyone, there's already a thread for that), besides it'll be 2 days, allow me to repeat that, 2 days late. It's not the end of the world because they were two days late dude, they've got a lot of work to do in the next six months to combat the competition, cut them some slack.

OK I might derail it here but...IMHO I'm not going to cut them some slack. It's a while till CO/DCUO realases, yes theyre going to in open beta around April team, but there's so many things wrong with I13 and if I14 is MA alone (which has been said by Posi himself) then this game isn't going to survive any MMO realases, let alone superhero MMOs.
I'm not gonna cut them some slack this time, I'm paying my sub, I get my say in the matter.

He said it could stand on its own, not that it would. Not that they haven't put out releases almost entirely for a minority audience before: I4 and I6 both had very much a minority appeal.

Now you know.
considering how much fun the MA will be, and the usual changes that normally accompany an issue ( shields and the day jobs are the meat of I13 - but look how much other stuff has been packed in too ) I very much doubt I14 will be JUST the MA, but rather a selection if architect / base and other crafting related additions.

How about instead YOU actually learn to read? When this came up, GhostRaptor checked with Positron himself, and CONFIRMED TO US that i14 contains more then just the Mission Architect. Why don't you quit talking out of your rear for a change, hmm?

I hightlighted the bit I assume you are referring to. First of all, Positron is a Developer, not in marketing. I dare say we can bandy words, but 'devoted to' in programmer-speak generally means there are no other major features. There will be other features, as there were in I4 and I6, but they will not be major ones and you will not be happy with them. Positron seems to be quite good at verbally shooting himself in the foot like this. (A lot of programmers are, I know I am.)
We know that the original plan was to have the MA in I13 and it was split out into I14. We currently have a schedule for I14 which says Q1. We have not been given any form of schedule for I15 that I am aware of, no clue of what is in it, and no idea how developed it is. However, we know it was called I14 until the MA had to be broken out of I13.
I'll give you the following somewhat educated opinion. I15 has been under development for 3-6 months. If I13/14 (really one big release forced into two by player pressure to release content this year) does not get a good enough reaction, they are highly likely to be able to wheel I15 out in reasonably short order since I'd expect it to be functionally complete by the time I14 goes live.

He later corrected what he said.
I14 will mainly be the MA, but it will have other content as well. Mainly due to the poo storm that was had over the Atlantic about it.
