Nemesis Steam Train Mission

This is an idea I've been sitting on for quite some time ever since I heard of a mission/arc involving Nemesis and a some kind of railway.

My idea is simple enough, it's along the same vein as the "Board Train" missions along with a villain type twist.

You board a train in any of the stations as per usual and you are taken to a train yard infested with Nemesis and work your way to the colossal and impressive Nemesis Express. Then you board then train in much the same way as villains get onto a frieghter then enter the bowels of the ship.

"You feel the carriage shift as the metallic monstrosity groans into life and starts moving."

You gradually work your way through the carriages, containing nemesis soldiers and some automated turrets. When you get to the engine itself, which has an elite warhulk hardwired into the machinery and you must defeat it to bring a halt to the train and foil the plot.

I'm in the process of mocking up the train design and I'll be posting it in the creative section soon enough. Please tell me what you think.

Sounds like it could be a really good mission, perhaps have it on a timer so that you have to stop the train before it reaches is destination.

And I dont know if this is possible in the game engine but, a section on top of the train with the countryside speeding past as you battle nemmies.

I'd love a little more variety in missions and could imagine a mighty Nemesis, steampunk train.

But...

I can't help feel that if Nem was building a mobile weapon or base then he's seriously lost his edge if he's making it restricted to having to move on preexisting tracks!

OMG! Nemesis is coming to destroy the city - what can we do- we're doomed!
Don't worry, Captain Fat Controller will switch the points and save the day!


Now if it swapped from a train to a giant zeppelin or something...


Actually I suppose Nemesis might create a base/weapon that needs traintracks if it's a typical case of misdirection... but such obvious misdirection must be a bluff... though he'd anticipate us seeing it as a bluff so maybe it's a double bluff... but he'd have........

Yikes! Maybe a train could work for Nem.

I like the idea. Even with Fat Controller.

Basicly it would be a board train mission right? Not something like an event?

So the answer to my question is yes it is like a board train mission. The map of course is a train.

you could enter a mission which is a nemesis train station, and as soon as the first person steps into the train it goes off

so everyone has to catch up with it (that said it has to go slow enough so people can catch up with it)

I love this idea, it'd add variety to the maps and would be great fun.

I had ideas about stuff to add to it, but I think simplicity is the name of the game...plus I need to think about these ideas some more.

I'd play this map, most definitely
