25 patches?
Thought that the game just downloaded the files that you needed in one large update....

Do you know anyone who plays the game already? If so they can burn the entire game onto a DVD and send it to you. Or if they live close by either move your PC to them or vice versa, or use a USB memory stick thing.

A lot of the patches are very tiny, so I think it won't take nearly as long as you think to download it all.

Yeah there are only a few larger patches - certainly unless your usage limit is VERY small you shouldnt have a problem - may be best letting the updater run overnight as it tends to be quicker then!

my medium download speed is just over then 500kb/s and only takes around 1:45, if it takes a few months to you then you just have a download speed of 20b/s.

He's not on about his connection speed, he's on about his usage allowance - how much data he's allowed to download and upload per month before his ISP starts sending polite threatening letters. Or just disconnect him permanently. It could be anything fom a few GB to 100+GB, but if his allowance is closer to the former, he's a bit buggered.

If he's very limited he might be up dirty canal without barge-horse anyway. While online gaming doesn't use huge amounts of bandwidth up it does use some. Once upon a time I recorded how much my machine used over a month (30 day trial) and it was quite startling to see just how much bandwidth I used. And bear in mind I am on a limited connection so do restrict how much I download.
Basicly the highest download you would get with CoH is 2,5ish GB (if you start with a empty exe file). I just dont understand those ISP's of today anymore that still uses pathetic bandwidth thingies, highly outdated based on clean html browsing, but failing to keep their limits with today standards.
