Good is relative.
As far as the DE are concerned they're the good guys. We're the ones destroying the planet and wiping out fellow species, they're just combatting that.
And they may be right, but what's that got to do with the CoT?

CoT.
The mages know a lot of valuable knowledge. Knowledge is to be treasured and preserved, this is a good thing.
Writing it down would leave it open to misuse by filthy un-initiated people.
Therefore nicking peoples bodies, and replacing their soul with your own is a perfectly good thing, as it keeps knowledge around.

A valid argument were it not for the fact that they do actually write it down. The only reason they are stealing bodies is that they want to live forever.
No, I'm quite sure that the CoT don't think of themselves as evil, but they are actually one of the more classically evil groups in the game.

Not sure its actually true but was more trying to impress onto GG that what she perceives as Good and Evil is frequently just a point of view.
Although I would struggle to apply the same logic to the CoT admittedly, unless the CoT Spirits doing the possessing see humans as some form of animal useful only for riding around 'on' (which I doubt they do since a lot of them used to be human).

Actually, no, I think that's exactly it. Yes, they were human once, but Akarist suggests that the long years hiding out from "those that attacked them" (trying to cut down on the spoilers) have turned them from what they were to something less human.
I think the Oranbegans want to survive, and they've chosen a pretty immoral way of doing it.

Actually I do see a glut of Silver MMO players in years to come :
"BRB, prostate is flaring up"
"BRB, getting a nice cup of complan"
And other such sterotypes.
