I know some one that goes for the tripple account setup.
fire/kin active,
fire/rad on follow, toggles & pimps +heal on auto
spines srcapper on follow, toggles on I think he has throw spines rather than spine burst on auto.
Not sure if you would need the heals etc from rad though, AM on auto might be useful?
Fire/Sonic, Fire/FF and Spines/Fire on follow?

I just run a pair of fire/kins, fast and furious... but overkill for a 2x spawn farm map. For six player spawn its lots more fun. 
Run with a Mind APP using IW which gives me mez protection Increased density does for the rest.
Spines/Dark would be my recommendation.
Add assault/tactics and focused accuracy into the mix for lots of fun.

4 Second Fire Ball recharge and World of Confusion. Make that a damage capped Fire Ball with the -res from Disruption Field, almost ones shots the mob, Imps and Hot Feet clear any leftovers up in a few seconds.

No it won't
If you've a power on auto and you target a teammate targetting a mob you'll fire the power off at that mob.
Trust me, I've done it by accident enough times
You need to have the power on auto though, as Rapthorn says (green circle around it)

You have probably noticed that when you target a teammate, then their target is shown to you. Defensive powers use your target and offensive powers use your targets target.

Which is great fun when you're targetting a tank and have forgotten you've some lowbie blast on autofire from the last boss fight.

Excluding novas, then I believe blasters fireball is indeed the highest Targeted AOE
However, I personally don't like the ranged attacks for a follow-on toon.
Problem : You get ready with your fire/kin to hit the next group. You target one of them ready for flashfire before running in. Suddenly, over your shoulder flies a fireball. Your blaster then faceplants as 15 demons turn and blast it back :P
I use PBAOE based secondaries myself, but maybe I'm just a chicken
Advanatage of a pbaoe scrapper on follow on is A) They can survive the odd hit without intervention and B) they get the full benefit of FS all the time.

I run two accounts on two PCs and a software multiplexer. My follower is a fully active player, when I hit fulcrum I get two fulcrums, when I hit fire cages I get two fire cages. AFAIK it is possible to do this with a full team though not having eight PCs or accounts haven't actually tried it. Software I use is called Octopus, its no longer in development and was written primarily for multi-boxing WoW. It is however free and available fro http://www.dual-boxing.com. Sadly that site is mainly WoW centric but there is some useful information for general multi-boxers.
Where abouts on that site can you get the software Lost? PM me a link if you don't mind. Gonna give it a whirl

I don't see how it qualifies as botting, you're doing all the work yourself. It's no different from playing simultaneously with two keyboards. (In fact, I doubt the game can tell the difference)

Can't seem to get this software to work anyway 
Ok so i have respec'd my Fire / Kin and so far she is more efficient than ever.
I am looking into finding a toon to pair with her on my dual account so that I get
twice the Influence per run, by obviously running 2 x 50's.
Then I though, well why have a 50 sitting at the door when you could have a
buffer on follow and tear the farm map up much faster!
Soooo, here is my options so far for my "farm hand"
Controller Fire/Sonic
* 3 extra imps, Hot feet toggle, -res toggle, Pbaoe mez res toggle
Scrapper Spines/Fire
* Blazing Aura toggle, Quills toggle, Spine burst set to auto
So the advice I was hoping for was if any one can think of a better toon to follow
my Fire/kin Semi AFK that will increase my kill rate and map speed.
