It's the one log-in on the NC site to manage both. However in terms of entering Credit Card details for subscribing you enter them every time you start / restart paying for a game.

It can and will happen if we're all in one list. But the lagg has to be gone... or we really have a problem.
There is no excuse for lagg. If it was my compagny I would seriously look into the lagg. With all force I could muster.

WOW is in the german server parc too... the more people access it, the worse the lagg becomes. Next update of WOW is close. Have we noticed the lagg increase?

What about placing four more servers in the US.. mirror them from the ones in EU. Then change the client with an update. combine the accounts.. Give all a free global name change if name is already in use.
Keeping the support in the same place for 24 hour support (remote). Must be that way already anyway.. as support is in UK and servers in Germany.
Away from WOW (and upcoming MMO's Starcraft 2 and Diablo III)... away from lagg... no VAT (cheaper Subs)... no name loss... one list...

(I hate legal arguments there so dam confusing)
Right not sure how similar this is but a while back Paypal opened up a EU division and all that was required to move from US account to EU account was agreeing to new terms and conditions.
Now surly there was data protection issues involved with that move and if its just a case of getting users to agree to new T&Cs that should be easy anuff you have to agree to the current ones every time you log in any ways.

When adding a US account there is no extra / different agreement you have to agree upon... Just add a Credit Card (which can be the same as you used before).

Now i know you have no idea what you are talking about... they are stand alone games, with multi player elements, but not MMO's.
and it's not a bout what systems are were, after all, these Forums are on the same server as the US ones, not the same forums though are they?

ok.. I am misinformed on these games.. I thought they where planned as MMO (should have looked them up before mentioning). Does that make the rest ridiculus? I dont think so.
As the servers on which we game are in different countries it was obvious neccisary to make two forums. But those forums wherent needed to be in two locations. So they made both forums on a US Server... (the test server to be precise).
I know I don't know the way these Domain(s) are build up. It is a lot of guessing. No info is released. But these are educated guesses. The forum fact I know as we had test server crashes before and that resulted in both websites (us and eu) going down. Also.. you need to make a new forum account when you want to post on the US forums. Showing that they use seperate databases.
btw.. I am just venting idea's as the suggestion threads is free to use for. You now sound like you have a personal grudge against me...

My problem with you is you are insisting because you think it is easy it should be done, despite the fact you have no idea of what would be involved.
there is no actual coherent reason to think this would be easy or quick in any way shape or form.
I am not saying its easy.. I am saying that I think it would be wisest. And I have not yet heard any good argument why not.
Aside of legal stuff that is. And although that would take time and money, it is not impossible to do.

The forums are absolutely NOT hosted on the same machine as the test server. They're on the same IP range, as they're both located in Austin, but they're NOT the same machine; their IP addresses are different.
More than likely, it was a router in Austin that crashed, taking down everything. There's just no way they'd run a game server, even a test one, on the same machine as a live forum.

Thanks for the heads-up.. I didn't had any chance to check ip-adresses back then. And I am not able to check the game ip from here. So I had to go on memory. That sucks. Anyway. So we have a seperate Webserver I guess then.
Ha.. I just gave some idea's.. but It is turning into a domain breakdown. I should go gather ip-sdresses

well for a start the test "server" is a cluster, and the forums are likely to only need a single 1u server.
as for wise? how would it be wise? a bigger list this time with a French and German server? hot damn, won't that just boot subs in to the atmosphere... wait no, all it will do is call for more server merging as there will now be 13 "low pop" servers...
one thing i do know is that, if all the servers would be in one list, it's not an issue of legal things, rather if they want it or not.
they don't only depend on our money, but also that of US money.
and if ppl in EU want to play in both servers, they pay 2x the bill.
so in the end, it has nothing to do whenever they are legal to do it or if it's possible, it's more that this is a good way to get money.
it's very possible, it just makes them cut there income, something NCsoft doesn't want.
Sorry, but it IS a legal issue as well. Rednames have explained it several times in the past, and the reason given was exactly the reason I've repeated here.
Sure, there's an element of profit too it, as well as an element of wanting to keep 2 communities; but the major facts now that they've DONE it this way, is a legal one.

i was hoping you knew better, but since i was wrong, let's remind you.
there are ppl that want to play on both servers, for both the reason to still play with there friends and to have there own choice whenever they want a quiet server with the ability to whisper to there friends.
being close minded doesn't come far in this world, watch that for now ok
Ah now I understand this, I was sort of lead to believe this was the only MMO that does this, as i've never really played another I didn't know they all do, so it all makes sense to me now.
The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.

Not totaly true.. They cancel their EU sub, but it's because not wanting to pay the sub twice. Not because it is so much better in the US.
People not being able to coming back when they want to is a prob. All who go to US are lost to EU. With one list they can still global talk to old EU friends... come back.. Change their minds etc.
