And hope you get some hot nurses to give ya a sponge bath

Hmmm...think I might have to plan some sort of highly melodramatic, yet substantially less painful accident which would enable this to happen.../em dream...
(This is to me ofc )
Thanks guys and gal - although I am out now came home a few days ago. And while many of the nurses weren't much to look at - the housekeepers had some talent! Although did make a few of them blush a few times and one housekeeper even got a free show when she was tidying up and walked in on me getting changed behind the curtain. Apparently women have trouble maintaining eye contact sometimes too.
Interestingly after that she kept offering me a wider choice of desserts too at meal times.... funny that eh.
But like I said in my OP - please add your own things of how the CoX community have helped you all. And the repeated wel wishing above helps to only emphasise my original point
Lung time no see! (sorry )
Seriously, glad everything's working out ok and welcome back to the game. I guess the true test of a hero is coming through real pain and adversity and not letting it cow you. I reckon you qualify!

Recently I have found out just how fantastic this community really is.
As some may/may not know I recently was rushed into hospital with a severe problem of a collapsed lung. I spent weeks in hospital had to have 2 chest drains that failed resulting in surgery to remove the top of my lung and permanently fix it to my ribcage. Trust me when I say thats the really, really, really short version of that saga. Naturally this was a painful and traumatic experience.

Dude, I know exactly how you feel, had the exact same thing when I was 17. Man what a ridiculously painful and confortable experiance that is.
Anyway, my thoughts are with you. I hope you make a full recovery, took a couple of years for everything to be fully healed with me, really coulda used an emp back then!

It is amazing what a nice smile will do.
Hope your recovery completes itself with alacrity.
Hope you feel better soon.
Just don't do what a stubborn friend of mine once did - start training for a half-marathon only a month after leaving hospital after collapsing his lung and collapse it again. Once he learnt his new limits and took an appropriate amount of convalescence he was fine though - pretty much a full recovery, except that he had to give up the marathon running
I hope your recovery is trouble-free.
Its amazing what some folk will do to get some time off work/school to play this game
But seriously, it's always good to hear about someone getting better after a major health problem, hope you get those lungs up to full capacity soon mate
It just goes to show, that despite the rants and raves, when something happens to one of us, we all rally round, and give support, when and where needed.
Not so much a community, as one big extended family. I for one am proud to be a part of that.
Swift recovery my friend

Thank you for proving my point so perfectly. And thank you all
I hope you kept the piece of lung - great conversation piece, and you could've made a mini set of bagpipes!
On a more serious note: I hope your recovery is easy, painless and full of the best looking nurses/doctors/receptionists and such.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery Star.
Best wishes mate and get well soon.
Happy to be on Defiant.

And even before I came back I had a number of global messages, ingame emails, text messages and even a couple of calls to my hospital bed along with my SGs own running thread here of people giving their love, well wishing and just general support for me. Not just me as a player, or as a teammate but me as a true person.
And even since I've come back and told people about it, I've had nothing but a very warm, friendly and highly supportive return.
I'd like to say that this for me is the crowning glory of the whole CoX community when I have so much feedback and support from just so very many - many of which I very tenuously know. To me this is proof that the CoX community is truly a cut above the rest.
Thank you to all the black-clad villains and white-spandex heroes out there for your support and care. You make this game what it truly is.
I'd also love to keep this thread going less as a sympathy vote for me and more of a "what has the community done to help you out like this?" kind of way. So please do add your own
Kindest thanks and regards to the whole community,
Star...
