Since PvP is so irreparably broken, perhaps there could be an alternative to actual mano-a-mano PvP. I like the gladiator idea, but that's broken too.

One idea might be a zone where criminal/lawful factions gain/lose terriroty based on some (specifically non-pvp) objectives the players have to attempt to complete. This could be a variety of different missions/farms/GMs/AVs, whatever.

I'm trying to think of something where you compete with other players (specifically heroes vs villains, as it should be) without engaging them directly.

A version of RV where the players can't affect one another would be interesting (empty, but interesting).

Im thinking this is a better suggestion than your initial one! Tho it would most likely be over-run with superteams and so on, not the same as the generic PvP powersets, but still along the same line! But i like the idea!

Using a Break Free heals all Mez at time of use, and grant some protection against further Mez for 60sec afterwards...

You dont need an infinite supply, if you decide to stay and fight a battle you cannot win because your getting locked down, and your toon has no Mez protection, then thats up to you. (you only really lose if they grief you by Mezzing you while an npc enemy is attacking... and no honorable PvPer does that... they get no rating if an npc gets the kill) and in all my PvP zone explorations its very rare I need more than 2 to escape from a troller/dom, and on the occasions I havent escaped its usually a gank and the DD classes kill you, rather than a lone troller/dom.

[Sarcasm] Whatever next... asking them to remove a blaster/corruptor ranged attacks because your melee toons keep getting kited and can't fight back? [/Sarcasm]

Trollers and Doms are a part of THIS game, and lots of people like to play as a troller/dom... totally nerfing an entire archetype just to suit players unwilling to learn how to deal with them is never ever going to happen. (I freely admit, that as a PvE'er I dont like PvP... But PvP zones have their rewards, double exp on missions in them, Badges, Temp Powers, etc. and so to complete the required tasks I must also accept the consequences.)

Double XP for PvP zone mishes was removed several issues ago

Double XP for PvP zone mishes was removed several issues ago

[/ QUOTE ]The double XP mission bonus (not that that's anything huge, most XP comes from mobs anyways if you can't ghost a mission) was set to only be granted once within 30 minutes.

I just finished the Revenant Heroes story arc with my Blaster. If I couldn't have hit the hordes of PPs after Holding them so they couldn't MoG or Elude it would have taken me twice as long and been half as much fun.

So I think I'd like CC to remain just as it is, thank you very much.
