Imperious TF ( contains spoilers )
Ran this through last night and it was a very nice TF. A few deaths here and there (mostly the D3 or the brute drawing too much agro).
Team of 3 50's a 47(or 48) plus 4 SKs. Only debuffs from the D3 and a mind/thermal torller. 1 tank, 2 scrappers, troller (mind/therm), D3, FF def and 2 blasters. SHock horror, no RAD......
I found I could quite happily draw the agro from the AV nitcus at the end just using death shroud and hitting it a lot.
The only issue came when it went pop and stunned me through Obsidian Shield. So they must pack one hell of a stun.
As per above, top work by the devs.

Done this twice and both times just pulled the healer away from Romulus, Healer does no damage so can be 'tanked' be anything that does damage. First time I kept the healer busy on my blaster for the whole fight. Key we found was not to taunt/gauntlet with an AoE at the start of the fight or the Healer becomes agroed to the tank with Romulous.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

I cant see what all the fuss about tanks and taunting is, we done this half a dozen times with and without tanks, you just need to kill that healing nictus, get a few shivans if your struggling.

The game is set up so that it can be done with no particular AT "needed".

You know the stun you do when you Soul Transfer?
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
So that would be Mag30 then.
Ouch. I guess not much stops that. iirc even granit only gives ~mag 21 res.
Oh well. guess that'll teach me to try and get the killing blow....
Dealing the killing blow is ok. It's the being fast and getting some distance between you and the corpse that counts. (Well, that or the carrying of a healthy amount of breakies.)
With our SG we usually just ignore the Nicti and concentrate fire on Romulus. With each rez one Nictus disappears and we start the assault on Romulus again immediately thereafter.
Easy as pie.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
It took 4 stacked CM for a toon not to get mezzed by the stun when Romulus rezzes, so thats quite hefty, my WP tank needed a breakfree to not get mezzed.
Attacking Romulus while something that deals damage to the healing nictus seems to be the key, and it seems it doesnt have to even be a tank which makes life easier. Killing Rom 4 times does seem to be easier, and you get the reward for killing him each time, so seems the better, more sensible option to me.
We had our tank on Romulus him self and then I held the agro from each nictus in turn wile the dmg dealers gave it a spanking.
He only rezed once and that was due to us miscounting the nictus (we missed one)
Done this TF twice now, and we managed to take Romulus down easily on both runs, with him not rezzing. A Tank is important but not necessary as previously managed.
On the 2nd Run, I played my fire/axe tank. We also had 3 corrs, 1 widow, 1 scrapper, 1 blaster and a troller. I tanked Romulus away from the nictus, but kept in range of the other players as not to effect my sidekick too much. All the others, then laid into each of the nictus in turn. If the nictus got too close too Rom, they would attack me (via taunt), so I'd just have to move around until the nictus was out of taunt range. The dmg from Rom was easily handled as he always stands off you, and just uses ranged attacks, that barely scratched me.
Another point to bear in mind, is that everyone should target the nictus through a dedicated person, to make sure you only attack one. In my first run, we were targeting different nictus, hence why it took longer to defeat them.

Lets say you defeat a Nictus. Anyone notice a reward for that? I know I damn well wouldn't of.

Exactly. Kill Rom 4 times, get 4 rewards. Kill The Nictus, no Reward except for one Rom defeat. Hmmm Maths aint my strong point, but Isn't 4 usually more than 1?

[/ QUOTE ]I suppose it depends on whether you want 4 rewards or not. I personally am not that bothered about receiving 4 rewards, I'd rather work out a better way of taking down the main AV, that gives me a sense of achievement... than just grinding them into the dust.

Thats true. I do however see things from the point of view of keeping fellow "heroes" safe as a greater priority as I am part RP.
I guess sometimes, it'll be better for some teams/people for whatever reason to drop Rom 4 times or drop one Nictus and then Rom 3 times and so on. Particularly team make ups, time and values could come into what people have/want to do.

A trick I've noted for the healer, he has a sort AoE twilight grasp (as in it can hit more than one of you, I realise it's an AoE heal!), so if you have a mostly ranged party you can stand outside of his range and let one or two melee guy thwack him to keep him still.
Haven't seen this mentioned, so an alternative tactic for you...
If you have a few ranged attacks, (not AoE tho) all target the same nictus and they can be defeated without pulling Rom.
Wouldn't have thought it possible until we did it last night
And without getting too defensive re stalkers, I was on mine and used snipe from mace set, was getting criticals for almost every hit (if not all) and with BU and hasten did some pretty decent dmg.
For the robot control part, myself and someone else (forget what AT sorry) concentrated FULLY on the control, even after robots spawned, there was a death or two, but then there has been most times i've done it with a variety of ATs, but mainly we destroyed it without TOO much grief.
I mentioned in a stalker thread, but I also went around and took out every Surgeon before the control while the team was fighting 1st spawn, needed retsu at one point tho, 6 surgeons in very close proximity, basically they all needed to be one shotted or the others would heal them instantly.
Hope someone finds that useful
Currently mostly playing:
Indiana Ford: PB, Lady Izza Tramp: Ice/Ice Tank, Stanley Orange: PB, Pu Wu Rad, Storm Troller.
Tao Te Tzu, Stalker.
as for rom rezzing, he'll only rez with players being close. However close in his eyes means a few yrd away . However we did plant rom once with 3 nictus still alive and he didnt rez.
To cope with the stun, once he dies and im on my tank, i jump behind a wall or whatever. That way his rez-stun wont hit me and as soon as he rezzes i jump in and taunt while i wait for my team to become stun free again.
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
We just completed this and Rom went down very fast 4 times running after being stunned and taken down by the ambush mob from behind the first time it was easy enough to back off far enough to avoid the stun.
We didn't even bother with the nictus really just took him down fast - Kin + Rad + Poison ftw - It definitely helps when he has no recharge, no regen, no end and very little damage and we have capped damage and lots of recharge
