WP in PvP
WP is imo the best secondary for brutes in PvP along with Fire. You won't deal as much damage as a /fire brute, but in exchange you get loads of survavility, and you'll be really really tough to beat. Aid self would be a waste imo
Yeh? Thnx Dark! Gave me new confidence in my toon. Think im gonna slot for rech so I have longer with stacked rages too.
Hehe, yeah, no worries. If you slot your WP brute properly you will be nigh to unbeatable in one on one situations. Usually it takes the full effort of a medium-sized team with debuffs and all that to take down my EM/WP brute.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Well I do like a duel. You think I would struggle without Aid Self in a duel?
I was thinking, pop SoW, build rage and get stacked rage. Duel should be over before i get killed?

Everyones different, but after trying a few different builds i ended up sticking with aid self and do ok in duels.
Also depends what your fighting how long they last
Yeh I was thinking that really. I am definitely keeping - Leaping/Fitness/Fighting pools.
So its either hasten or medicine.
Thanks for advice. I think I will go without aid self till 50. Play with my current build then probably respec once I am sure.
Or just lvl a Veat

I think it will come down to a choice between fighting and medicine, rather than speed and medicine, also you could slot hurdle and maybe avoid leaping too.
Not only is hasten obviously very useful but you will want super speed for pvp i think.
Anyway try a few builds, im definately not a pvp guru
Mmmmh I'm really not sure that WP can resist well against energy melee/ toons or fire/ blasters (and soon fire/ scrappers)...

I have a lvl 50 Em/Wp brute pvp built and lets just say no melee toon can beat him, i have fighting pool, medicine, speed pool. Even spines scrappers dont give me to much trouble as they did when i had a SS/Invun brute

I'd take concealment over medicine anytime for duels
Willpower sucks for zonal pvp. Mediocre defense, mediocre resistance, lack of healing, in need for the enemy to stand close and still in order to regenerate faster. I'd take fire over WP anytime.
the biggest threat for a EM/WP brute in melee is another EM/brute...
I got a WP/SS tank with more then 3000HP. I fought a EM/WP brute last night in arena. Got no chance to take him down and EM>SS for PvP. ET is the best ST attack in the game and maybe a bit too powerful.
Downside...for teamplay your EM/brute is a bit useless
BANG BANG!!!

Mmmm well do you have a fire brute because i do and i also have a wp one and i wouldnt put fire above wp any day, slotted right a wp can stand its ground alot longer than any fire even with healing flames, as for resistance and defense fire brutes come along way short of any wp, the lack of a heal on wp is more than made up for by fast healing and some good slotting.
EM is getting old fast in PvP imo.
Understandably so but it seems like 99% of melee PvPers have it.
For a game with so many distinct powersets it is boring to see the same set dominating PvP.
Well I am very close to 46 on my Brute. Been spending some time in RV farming and PvPing as and when. Been quite happy with survivability of WP. 1v1 I can survive ok. In fact the only time i have been pwned was last night when 4 heroes ganked me with debuffs/immobs and blaster wailed on me.
Fighting some scrappers I was happy with performance and could take their health down once fury was up and rage stacked but I felt I needed one more decent damage attack. Gonna take a good look at 50 to my build. Oh and have not taken medicine and tbh have not felt it was that needed. The times I have been taken down I doubt aid self would have made any difference.

I had fire blasters drain their whole endurance bar on my EM/WP just for laughs. And scrappers... let's say that no single scrapper has yet managed to get me below 85% health.

Well i understand it but I prefer variety personally.

I said fire/ scrappers. All the pvp scrappers are smash/lethal which is very very well resisted by wp, except dark/, who doesn't deal extreme damages.
But when the I12 is available, I think there'll be a proliferation of fire/ scrappers ^^

I don't think that fire/ will make so much of a difference to give a scrapper much of a chance against a well-built /WP brute. Even a fire/ brute on full fury is not up to the task and that's more dps than that of a scrapper with the same set. (Recently tested: Wanted to know how long my EM/WP brute survives against a constant onslaught of fire melee on full fury. Answer: Indefinitely unless hit by an unlikely lucky streak.)
That said I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of toons with proliferated powersets and fire/ will probably be quite popular with scrappers (and rightfully so).

Lol pvp scrappers.
Indeed.

Im working on lvlin a SS/WP brute to 50 before i12.
How does willpower perform in PvP? I have fought a few with my scrapper, beat some and beaten by others but no real opinion formed.
Is aid self needed for pvp?
Any advice would be appreciated.
