I've been thinking of leveling a WP/SM but in the end I always go back to my beloved Ice tanker.

I have still a WP/stone on the testserver, i really like the set. Although if you wanna go for more resist/def (taking tough/weave) you might get stuck on powerchoices.
But i was used to that already with my inv tanker

Taunt slotted? Gauntlet helps as well.

I have taunt 6 slotted, and Whirling Mace is loaded with accuracy/recharge and PROCs. However biggest problem is until teams learn that you aren't lieing about the taunt aura and actually wait a couple of seconds for you to get aggro , rather than launching attacks as you run in.
Just out of interest, how have you found tanking AVs? Is it ok with support?

Theoretically WP is the primary set that will benefit the most from a team, so I'd say yes.

I have soloed every Praetorian as an EB. I've tanked most of them as AVs fairly easily except for antimatter. The problem is actually having a team in many cases, they don't listen when you tell them to leave the other mob and concentrate on the AV. I've found best tactic vs the harder hitting AVs (or AVs with PBAOE) is to get them immobed and taunt from range with as many mobs as possible around me.

Have exactly the same problem with Ice.
I really should do something about this signature.
I quite like my will power tank. Not amazing resists or defences, but a mix of the two, nice regen rates on hp and end, no real need to take stam unless you want to take health as extra regen, and low end usage. He is still only lvl 24 atm, but slotted with SOs, hes becoming really fun. Will be interested to see how he fairs vs hard hitting AVs though. Have taken tough and will take weave soon to help him with his restists/defences.
What have people slotted their RttC with? Mine at the moment has 3 heal and 1 endrdx, it worth slotting with anything else?
i got a lvl 27 WP/SS tank and i have to say that i really love this kind of tank...my first tank without endurance problems the only thing is..when you jump right in the middle of tons of enemies and your health bar drops to 50% or 30% you first get worried but then if you see your health increase very fast, it feals great
the mix of res/def/regen and good endurance regenation makes him in my opinion very survivable and good to play (alone and with a team)
the only thing i didnt tried atm is pvp...will be interesting to see how good this works against other toons

Ok so we are a way into the latest Mod, hopefully there are a few WP tanks out there that have actually been played
. Just wondering on peoples thoughts regarding them.
My own opinion is that its a really nice set. You are never truly amazing, but you do have a high degree of survivability. The powers are nicely ordered and Quick Recovery overcomes the end prob that early tanks always have. In fact I enjoyed my 1st 50 WP tank so much I'm going to make one that actually does damage! The only negative for me is the taunt aura, its too small and pretty much ineffective vs +3s or higher.
Anyway I loaded up my tank onto test and got some nice figures with realstats.

As well as that I have 2611hp, regenerate at between 49hp/sec and 170hp/sec depending on the number of enemies and rcover 4.13 end/sec. A very versatile mix of res, def and regen. Very tough to kill from my experience in game.
