I'll get to work on trying to sort that out. My Wiki-fu has faded, but as long as I don't collapse it in on itself...

Something Liz has seemingly had a good go at trying to do!

... Have you -seen- the back end of this? All those pages linking back to themselves, changed into categories, all the revisions and changes made unauthorized and unwanted?
My recommendation is for -everyone- to find their pages, save the information and get ready to redo it all. I'm going to talk with the main admin when he gets online, and then need to wait for the Virtue end staff to get up to ask them about this. If there's no way to mass-rollback or remove a users changes, fire and salt may be one of the few options. Not saying that's going to happen OMG right away, or even at all but it's best to be prepared.
*nods* I'll snapshot my pages.

Actually I'd like to redo mine anyway,, so burn away Z!
I wouldn't even know where to begin if that was the only option available, so as I said, need to wait for the Virtue side to get online.
Ack! Everyone whose out of the game for whatever reason are gonna be proper shafted, aren't they? o_o'

Only -if- that is the only reasonable option. If there's no automated way to rollback the changes, it's either a -very- long manual slog through of them, or just do the DC thing and reboot.
Fan-bloody-tastic. Trust this to happen the one day I manage to input my first ever handbook page for a character.
Well roll-back to scratch is the worst possible scenario.
Hopefully once the Virtue mods can help they'll be a way to roll it back similar to System restore on Windows? As in restoring it to an earlier date, or checkpoint? I haven't a clue how the whole thing works, it just does!
I hope so, yes. One's online now, so time to go and poke.
Here's hoping!
Now... off to Tesco. I need to buy me a flaming torch, a pitchfork, and some rope.

Well, look at the bright side: you just have the one page to replace. Just grab the page into a text file (from the edit screen) and see what happens.
I've grabbed all my pages. Rollback as required.
If we can just rollback a few days, people out of the game shouldn't be affected, but that might be pretty hard. The best hope is that they can revert specific user's changes. I'm afraid this was my first ever active Wiki-type thing, so I know next to nothing about what's possible.

Done and done.
Virtue side person is AFK at the moment, so still waiting on that.
From investigations so far, it looks as if a bot is the main option, but I know little about bots.
Because I'm stupid and out of work... if it really has to be done totally manually *takes deep breath* if someone gives me temporary admin powers, I'll see if I can work out how to manually revert the categorised stuff before we resort to killing the thing and starting again.
I'm still hoping they can revert changes made by specific users though.

I feel I should point out that the user responsible has done this before back when the wiki first started, and was told then NOT to go changing other peoples pages.
Therefore, one can only conclude that said user either doesn't give a stuff about the rules, or doesn't have any comprehension of propriety.

... He's been messing with the sexuality pages. Again. Some kind of fixation, Liz?
At least you didn't change Storm Sapphire's sexuality to Transsexual again. Thank goodness for small blessings.

Meh, that's the trouble with wikis. The whole point is that it's a community editing project. You end up taking the rough with the smooth and vandals hit even the most famous one. Fairly active moderators is the only solution, and we can't expect the poor mods to be watching 24/7.

All this trouble from the leader of the Court of the Blood Countess... why am i not surprised...
In contact now with one of our Virtue counterparts. Bots can't be used on the Wikiserver, and they're trying to scramble to find a way to do a revision. There's been over -750- changes in 2 days by the person in question, we -may- be able to rollback to the 22nd October, before the recent spate of changes happened.
I say roll it back. Better to redo changes than all the work involved to repair the mess.

Ditto that. I'm not sure there's really that many legit changes in the past couple of days that are gonna be lost anyhoo, is there?

All of the users contributions will be rolled back in the early hours of tomorrow morning to October 22nd. The affected period was from the 23rd to today, and while some legitimate page edits and creations will be lost, there's simply no way to filter it all out. There may be some category issues still, but all in all the pages will return to their own state.
I'll get to work on trying to sort that out. My Wiki-fu has faded, but as long as I don't collapse it in on itself...
Other than hitting [Rollback] a ton load of times on -every- single change, I don't know... and some you can't roll back as they're the only contributor, such as the category pages.
I know I need to update my entries. It's getting the motivation.
