Base wish list

I'm not sure if I suggested it in this thread or an other or mearly planned it but.... here goes!

Doors.
Doors and walls.

I've thought up a way to do it!

First up, are the devider walls.
It needs to be a square wide, and either auto height, or a block the size of the centre space, stackable with blocks of one floor layer height blocks.
These being solid blocks (and a corner block)

Next, the doors...
No matter how they're designed, clickable or not...
Make them placable only IN the (large) wall block. This so that it doesn't HAVE to be of a fixed size or HAVE to be in the middle, but could also be to the side (the design of the door permitting).

Thoughts?

I would like to see an in-base message system/ability to write on walls. A simple motto, duty rosta, 'Please ask permission before removing items from this storage rack' written next to an object would make life a lot easier.

Also, although complicated, further permissions - non SG members adding/taking from storage, rank related storage (not the current system, but table/rack specific, 1 for lieutenants, 1 for leaders...), more...

[/ QUOTE ]

Let me start of and say I think most of the ideas are great but I would like to get the basics right before getting to detail.

To get more people involved in the SG we need better permission control so you can assign access rights per person per item (preferable based on global not toon). Personal space (quarters) and assigning room editing right is very important to get further commitment and give enjoyment to all.

Message/information boards is also a must.

Why does it take so long to just add a bed to the list? Surely dev must make it easier for design to add deco type items to list.

Looks like this thread has been dead a while, but perhaps we have some new ideas.

Theres a lots of items in missions what would look nice in your base. They are already in game, so I dont think its too difficult to put them into the editor too. A bartable would look nice and blackjack table.

How about a jukeboxes with some music? ...gigantic organ, harp, grand piano, laserorgan (like J.M.Jarre), etc.

Items with some interaction. Like TV, radio, telephone, flipper, pool table, darts target, drinks or food etc. When you click the item, your character make some emotes. WoW is good example. You can klick a chair and your character sits on it.

Staff has mentioned many times and here comes one more. Staff. I want old angry lady to my secretary, a maid to make the base more comfortable, WW-dude would be great, protocol droid, etc...

My hero is sick of that uncomfortable bed. "Yes I have an armour, but soft matrass gives a better dreams." Even heroes wants a soft bed. Especially those who have a royal blood in veins.

Some way to make visits to other groups bases. Perhaps some invitation system could work?

Please be patient. Im doing my best effort with this illogical languance

a wardrobe unit where you can try on costumes you have saved perhaps? make the changes to your cossie in your base for free, but you cant actually apply it, thats still icons job...

or the training dummies from the rwz - make your own firing range?

ouroboros portal in base, just for quick access

doors - already mentioned, no need to go there

weapon racks - rifles, swords etc

access to radio missions from supercomputer ( allows doing safeguards / mayhems from areas you missed, but at higher levels )

etc...

Already available, and has been for quite a while. I have one in my base, actually, in the control room.

Telephones and TVs already exist, to an extent. And there are emotes enough to interact with them. I Do agree with the click to sit thing though, at least as an option. Having to balance precariously on barstools and the like without hovering is really annoying at times. Dont make click-sit the only option, mind. Limits are bad.

And there is an invite system. Coalition invites and team member invites. Works fine so far, and if you want people outta your base, simply kick them from your team

Yes there are television, but not that one what I saw in mission and you cannot turn it on and off and choose cartoons There also telephone, but I mean with emote. When klick on phone, the character actually make proper emote and call to someone (perhaps to contact).

I know they'd be nice, as would a whole slew of other things, such as idle weapon poses and walking, tons of things that are in game but not assecible to us...

But all the 'Devs time' would get overrun pretty fast if everything got added. So, most likely, none of it'll happen any time soon, as they''ll be implenting other things and, hopefully, spending the time fixing some of the [censored] horrible bugs around. And the server stability...now THATS a dream

Yeah. Let the dev-team decide, what is too difficult and what's easy. Some wishes are a quite realistic and some are not, but let them make the choices and we make just wishes. They do great job after all, many thanks for them. Coh/cov is a quite stable at all, except just now after i13.

Perhaps some day in future a whole issue could concentrate on new features of bases. Many players are a quite enthusiastic about building bases. This wish list tells that. We also have a lot of other content like pvp, Cimerora, Ouroboros, WW etc. Bases are a little bit left behind.

So dont be shy and too critical to make new wishes.

More big items for Tech. Arcane has all sortsa huge items, Tech has barely any. Sewer has a few nice ones, espcially the steel platforms, but something a bit sleeker would be real nice. And tech things to stick on walls, and such...
And to fix the wall items that wont go on the walls! Really annoying!
Meh...

Here's one

Decorative rooms should be cheap, really cheap. A 3x3 decorative room costs upwards of 80K, an oversight center, also 3x3 costs 50K and yet the oversight center has more functions to it

And more decorative items would be nice, ambiance stuff like pool tables and such. And hot-tubs.

Various size stackable blocks that work like any of the current stacking items, but a range of sizes to make stacking a doddle.

All should have a basic skin I'd suggest a wood effect, a steel effect and a stone effect. Be available in a variety of thickness and at least one to stack from the ceiling down. Retaining the ability like the floor safe to delete reposition items from lower down the stack would be handy. Oh and allow another one to stack from walls out. All should have visible bottoms.

I would like to be able to move and delete rooms indiscriminately without the base editor refusing to allow something because it would 'break the continuity of the base'. Surely in editing mode it should allow a lack of continuity - as long as it workd when you click Exit??

If you were allowed to leave the base in a temporarily invalid state, then the server would have to keep track of the entire editing session, and discard everything you'd just done if you got d/c'd while the base was in an invalid state.

Far, far simpler, safer, and more robust to just forbid the base to ever be put into an invalid state.

It is safer to do that I agree but it is so annoying when you are expanding to a bigger base trying to put new, bigger rooms in and move everything about while still keeping everything connected together. Thursday night was the CoX Base equivalent of a Rubix Cube lol
