I'll be there. You might want to email bridger with the details so he can put a news item on the main website which will attract more players. Bridger gets alot of emails and usually takes a day or two to reply. (or maybe its just me, as i only seem to email him when an issue is about to go live.) Anyway the more time you leave between announcing and having the event the more people will show up. So maybe move it to a week on Thursday?
If you keep us posted I also make a message of the day for union leaders so should be able to spread news of the event. Im also sure be able to get afew from my supergroup down for some good ol fashing ganking .

Ok sounds good, whats bridger email address?
I have found bridgers email addy and sent him a message. I will be in RV tomorrow night (Thrusday 1st March) from 7pm, hope to see as many people there as possible. I understand theres not much time to set it up but I hope we can make it a weekly event, so hopefully more people week on week. Anyone interested just turn in RV at said time and date, and the rumble will begin! Hope to see you there!
Generally, Thursdays are relatively good for me, if you decide to do this regularly on the live servers I would definitely enjoy it.
Tomorrow, sadly, is not at all good for me.
Maybe another time.
And for anyone on Defiant, we have our monthly RV Saturday on the last Saturday of every month! The last two months have been a rousing success, enjoyable for all!
Not enough people in RV on Union tonight. Felt like me vs 3 villains most of time. I stayed about an hour lol. Heroes did out number the villains but were too spread out and were more after pill boxes.
I brought alot of my lot, must have been when you had gone as we dominated heroes.

Heroes were never organised enough to be a threat in the first hour, I came back on a different toon about 9:30pm when you were there, but villains outnumbered heroes at that point. Still not enough to make a full team on either side though and Pillboxes were all but forgotten.
To make RV fun and interesting there needs to be around 2 teams on each side.

We had a full team villainside, and even had to turn people away at one point. The heroes in the zone certainly had enough for a full team at more than one point, but instead opted to try to solo the massing horde.

I turned up in RV at about 10pm, on the hero side. I hadn't checked the boards so I was very pleasantly surprised that there was some team PvP going on. And I must say it was a blast.
In the beginning the villains dominated, but after a short while someone went and got a rad. Then it was more or less even for a while (my impression), until half the people left for bed. Then heroes began to dominate.
Fairly sure that wasn't because of me though - once the battle was getting close to the drones at the villain base I went off to work on the pillboxes, without this changing the course of the battle much. Until Widow and Mako spawned at Delta. Then we got a nice little battle there with four heroes vs Widow, Mako and the opposition. <smiles at the memory>
All in all, it was an entertaining evening, especially since everyone was good-natured about the entire thing. No trashtalking on broadcast at all.

Yeah was fun.
I would say it wasnt the rad that made the difference but the controller with confuse. We lost alot of our buffs when others called it a nite. We didnt really have any protection to get rid of status affects. I say the rad didnt make much difference to me but I remember the brute cursing his luck as he was always debuffed and slowed.

That would've been UNSTOPPABLE I take it? I recall he was very happy the one time when he wasn't debuffed as soon as the battle started - though as soon as he expressed his joy about it on broadcast the rad reprioritized his targetting.
As for myself, at the start of the evening I recall the granite brute taunting me the entire time. It was a bit difficult to be effective then, I must admit.
I haven't done much team PvP before, mostly arena duels, so I'm a bit unused to the team dynamics. I did notice that conditions that would've been lethal for me in the Arena, or soloing in a zone, were more of a nuisance thanks to the defender and controller backup. In particular when I got rad debuffs on me at one point but could still keep fighting effectively, thanks to the buffs.
I think last night went fairly considering the short notice. Its fair to say the villains absoluty dominated while I was there. I had an a really good time and everyone was very friendly about the whole thing. I could only take having my but kicked so many times. To begin with there were more heroes but many quickly left as the few villains that were there became a extremely powerful force. I stuck around for a good couple of hours, but had to leave when there were about 15 villains camped outside the heroes base. The villains were far too organised and played extremely well! I personally didnt mind contanstly dying, as I would nevere call myself good at PvP. But I think others may have enjoyed it more if the teams were more balanced. Hopefully we cant get more heroes for next week?
That is if everyone still wants to do it again?

I turned up early. Got splattered a couple of times (well, got slowed into oblivion and couldn't do anything).
Then I realised that what I don't like about PvP in RV is that it's really difficult to worry about the other PCs when you're standing there and Lord Recluse arrives with a couple of buddies. I was standing in a pillbox and I lasted about two minutes. But that was only because Recluse was busy attacking the pillbox and not me.
I think (maybe) that if you really want to hold big PvP events in RV, you need to stop anyone from taking pillboxes.
Just a thought. Might be back next week.

Sounds like everyone just needs to turn up at the same time and earlier than 10pm lol. I went and watched Skins so missed more people arriving.
'twas nice yesterday, sadly I was a bit tired and when I came back after taking a short break, I was pretty much just running forward into the hero group and attacking whatever happened to be my target. Something that really don't count as good pvp.
But was fun. And as Stryker said, 2 teams on each side could be about the optimal fight size there.

hehe. I rememeber bouncing out the base and seeing the camp robot c3po sitting in the nearest pillbox (actually I had no idea what it was at the time, but it COULD have been c3po). Land almost right next to him for a closer look and before i can say "omg! its positron! DIVE DIVE!" he takes me to 1hp. Was lucky to escape :O)
Didnt go last night cos I was out, should be there next week.

If you do this again on a Thursday I'll make an effort to bring a small team along hero side.
I did stick my head in there very briefly last night while eating dinner with a view to maybe a 15 minutes bash, but the heroes were pretty much pinned in base at that stage and after pulling a 14 hour day, my enthusiasm for trying to organise a team was extremely limited.
Be good to see it happen again though, with a bit more notice could have been fun.
After the talk of the issues in RV regarding soloing. I propose we organise a big team battle royal.
I would like to see as many people there as possible from heroes and villains, as a onesided battle will just be a waste of time.
Thursday night starting from 7pm. Whos up for it?
