The Most powerful in the CoX universe...

Assuming it works like magnetos, because he is repelling himself from the earths iron magnetic core?
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps you mean attracting to? If he repelled himself from it, he'd be flying off into space real fast.
[/ QUOTE ]
In the second or third issue of the Magneto series in 96/97, Magneto uses a low-level repulsion against ferrous materials in the ground to propel himself forward, similar to how a gauss-gun is 'supposed' to work.

Um... yeah, sure. Well, fair enough. I never knew Magneto was such a good conductor of electricity, but then he does seem to manage to 'magnetise' a lot of things that aren't magnetic so what the hey.

I got my guns mixed around, I meant a gauss-gun rather than a railgun. *slaps forehead*

Same thing, IIRC. Railguns are just huge versions of gauss guns.
Both work by inducing currents in the projectile using an EM field, and then driving a sort of 'wave' of magnetism down the 'barrel' which either repels or attracts the induced magnetic field in the projectile.

The thing is, Magneto doesn't actually need the electricity in the first place. The magnetic-field part of the guns are produced by the electricity in whichever way they're used.
Magneto already *has* the magnetic field due to his powers, and therefore, does not need an electric generator to provide the magnetic force for the projectile.

How can he be an aspect of Tartarus? Tartarus is a place, not a god.
[/ QUOTE ]
Need to bone up on your greek mytho there Ravey, he is both a god and a place. Kinda like Hades is a place and a god.
Its from the CoX novels, the comics at one point and I believe it might mention it somewhere in-game? Well I know for certain that it is in the novel at least.
[ QUOTE ]
In Greek mythology, Tartarus is both a deity and a place in the underworld even lower than Hades. In ancient orphic sources and in the mystery schools Tartaros is also the unbounded first-existing "thing" from which the Light and the cosmos is born.

and if you don't like wiki
[ QUOTE ]
One of the first Gods to arise from the void of Creation, TARTARUS, like his siblings NYX and CHAOS, personifies ultimate formless gloom. Little is known of his personality but as the first God of Hell we assume him to be a dour and depressing being.
[/ QUOTE ]
I stand corrected. I checked Wiki myself, but didn't see that sentence. As I rceall though, the description your quote gives would make him a Titan, not a god. Would certainly explain why he doesn't like Statesman much though.
I'm pretty sure the comics specifically state that they both stem from Zeus. I could check if I was home. I think it's the first or second of the newer comics you're refering to.
I've never read the novels, and I haven't arrived at a section of game which says very much at all about Recluse.

I think what you are stating is partially true. It says that they both got their powers from the fountian of zeus, and pandora's box, but I pretty sure (judging by their bios and the novels) that Zeus only chose Marcus Cole to be his Incarnate, and he was the first to drink from it as well.

They were all gods, they just had different labels.
Titians and olympians.
The Titans were a bit more... elemental, I always thought. I don't suppose it makes much difference in the "infusing your power into" stakes.
Does explain why they hate each other a lot as well.

Ya, true. Although the comics are not the greatest, I did like the first few, as it gave you a better insight to the Freedom Ph. however bad they were written, or how annoying they are. The game tend sto make you think they are more DCAU JLA like, when they pretty much seem not to like each other that much, but work together dispite this for the greater good.
Back on topic.
I'm a horrible terrible nasty horrid.. urm.. nasty.. yucky distusgusting filthy horrid yucky yuck yuck user of a time manipulation character.
Technically she can't really be killed as she isn't born yet but that's in a chronological order.. in her own lifeline she'd die. She's been scarred throughout all time by miss Ellie (retroactively too.. which is how she was made in the first place) and has been shot in the [censored] by one of her own bodyguards by accident. She'll interfere if asked, refuse to interfere if begged and probably get drunk otherwise. She can be held although because she doesn't need to move to skip out on current time she can put herself safely outside of time to wait out spell effects and suchlike.. however a good knock ont he head will stop that and her shields don't last forever (the shields seem to be something technological or an outside granted power). She prefers her gun to actually messing time about on individual people since she doesn't have the fine control it needs to speed or stop a heart to the point of death or anything like that. She works for (not own) a villain organisation and cannot by any means get what she wants from hem at a moment's notice (red tape... forms.. oh yeah.. she needs permission and there's a bunch of other head office types all vying for the higher position).
Appart from that she's as vunerable as a normal person and ends to rely more on the classic villain work arounds and minions than on godly power - she tends to be more frustrating than anything. Unlike Doc T she cannot travel in Space as well as time.
Pink -
A rather horrifically destitute past filled with asylum time and Council time her whole hero career has been a punishment of community service. She's emotionally very fragile and tends to latch on to people. As an Empath she was exceedingly powerful but never got the hang of trading off between power and control so she's either wide open tot he entire city or shut off utterly with whats already inside her bouncing around her mind endlessly. Before she was in the Asylum she'd managed a complete shutdown with no trapped emotions whatsoever which was farly bad since she seems unable to "make" emotions on her own. While in the Asylum she was encourage to focus on the other of her powers (and a co-joined one in reality) which was almost a dead one (from focusing solely on the initially stronger empathy) and so eventually her empathic talents started to fade into the background as she gained an extraordinarly fine control over the electrical manipulation..
Both of these used together allowed her to study the stimulation of the brain in the comfort of 5th column labs. However only one facet of her powers is strong at anytime with the other pathetically weak. With all the trouble that the electric side had been causing her she slipped into a wierd midpowered balance of them both through her hero career before slipping more fully back into the empathy despite best efforts to maintain the semi-decent balance.
Again otherwise she's a perfectly normal human being.
