*I don't think Carver and Carter will be with us tonight as they have taken jobs as postmen or something.
*I made some additions to the base last night. The memorial to Sarah Halley has been moved to a garden of rembrance which now honours Saule Grian, Moonfrost and all those who died during or since the Rivera incident as well as Sarah. There is a book of condolence where people can write messages.
On a lighter note there is also a bar in the main SG room. Please drink responsibly.

Yup that's right. It's connected to the "Loose Ends" story, so mostly I want Bastinado (required!), High Burn and Carter there. Other Watchmen are welcome but opptional.

I think it is prudent to post a summary of last Wendesdays events so that we all understand what our revised objectives are.
It seems that, at last, one of our enemies has shown his face and we must be prepared to put everything on the line both to honour all those who have fallen in the last 16 months and for our own survival.
I knew that one day I would have to enter this final battle with the man, or creature, I know as Magan. But I had now idea that he would somehow be involved in the deaths of Hyperion Star and Comette, and as a consequence the Rivera incident itself.
I dont know how, but the fact that he has any knowledge of Hyperion Star and Comette proves that he has some involvement in this plot against us. We know that something termed an anti-meme was created to wipe all evidence of the heroes, including memories themselves. We are immune, we assume, because we each carry a trace of Hyperion Star within us. Others, like Tabitha Guest and Dr Symmian, have created rituals to remember them. My theory is that Magans knowledge survives because he is part of the conspiracy that first led to the Rivera incident and is now covering it up.
Let me give you some background. For those of you who do not already know, or have not put the pieces together, my name is Captain David Reuther. A little over ten years ago I led a covert team to take down a drug cartel based in North Korea that was the source of a major supply of heroin throughout Asia.
The details are unimportant, but we followed intelligence that led us to Magan, the man at the head of the operation. The intel was wrong, and his son was killed in the resulting fire fight. I killed his son. Our evacuation was compromised, and my team were killed in an ambush. I dont know whether the luck was good or bad, but I survived. I was taken to a prison, I still dont know where. I was held there for ten years, subjected to bastinado torture that left me almost a cripple.
Until Wednesday, I did not know who rescued me from that hell. Magan confronted Solar Flare and I in Pocket D. He claims that Hyperion Star and Comette led the rescue.
I dont know what this means. I know that I owe those two heroes more than I can repay. And I know that Magan is linked to them and possibly, its certainly something he insinuated, the conflict between them and him continued until they were both killed on February 14 last year. I also know that Magan is a vicious creature fuelled by profit and hate with resources that perhaps even surpass Mr Carters.
This is a time for vigilance, but more vitally this is a time for action:
Action Plan
*Our primary objective is now to locate Magan and bring him in alive.
*Solar Flare has been given the role of Field Sergeant. He will lead operations in the field should Magan succeed in his threats against me. He is also tasked with preventing me from killing Magan should we encounter him.
*High Burn, accompanied by Solar Flare, will continue her investigations of the new Asian organisation operating in Brickstown and Independence Port.
*I will return to St Martial to meet with Mama Wong, a one time associate and now enemy of Magan. Big Daddy will monitor my movements.
*Doc Furnace and Johnny Ember will continue working on a treatment for our condition.
*James Carter will use his contacts and resources to trace Mr Souchet and Helmut Engels, who we believe are associates of Magan.
*Watchmen are urged to stay in pairs or groups when carrying out their duties and investigations. Carver is assigned to baby-sit Mr Carter when he is not in The Bunker.

Urgent message to all Watchmen
Last night the Bunker came under attack by a team of supervillains. They caused significant damage to the Bunkers computer system, transporter room and cellblock.
High Burn, Big Daddy and myself attempted to repel them, resulting in the deaths of two and the serious injury of a third. Unfortunately, two of them escaped with Penelope Suarez/Penny Black.
Due to the actions of Commander James Carter prior to and during the attack, I have placed him under house arrest and assumed full command of the Watchmen.
The raiding party spoke of belonging to a League and mentioned that they were following the orders of Mr Swift. I have assigned Watchman Jack Carver to research any villains this name could refer to.
The tracking device placed in Penny Black is operational but limited. Watchmen Solar Flare, High Burn, White Nightingale and myself will attempt to locate her as soon as possible. Under no circumstances should any Watchmen attempt to retrieve her or approach her alone.
Due to the repair work needed at the Bunker and the backlog of research materials, Watchman Captain Doc Furnace will be removed from the operational roster for the next five weeks.
All available Watchmen should meet at the Bunker as 8pm tonight for a full briefing.

Message to all Watchmen.
Extensive interrogation of the prisoner Violet Tasker has yielded little. All she has revealed is that the villainous operation using the name League Associated Industries have concerns in both Paragon and the Rogue Islands, and as such operate several businesses in and around the ports. Myself, Carver and Mr Carter have be concentrating efforts in Striga, Independence Port and Talos.
So far, we havent found any conclusive leads. As Tasker is no longer of use and a continued threat to our security, I have arranged to hand her over to the authorities.
A bigger menace that the one we have been combating these last months has reared its head. We are under attack from the Rikti and, as Watchmen, we must no decide whether to put our own objectives to one side to help repel these invaders.
When next we meet I will ask you all whether you wish to make a stand against the Rikti. I, however, have already made my choice. Whatever wrongs this country has done me; I will die to defend it.

The first two Wednesdays in September are scheduled to be Rikti invasions so I suggest we use these to get all the characters the Watchman badge as it seems a missed opportunity not to get an accolade with our name in it.
The next big thing will be adapting the Hess taskforce as the Watchmen's first strike against the League. This will follow on from info provided by White Vampyr and Carter, as well as Carver and Bast's covert mission in the Rogue Islands. Players whose Watchmen characters are too low (-25) can use other characters, eg GoodGuy.
If successfull, the Watchmen will then have enough information to find and confront Swift. This will be done on msn and *shudders* PvP.
That will then bring the Watchmen's opening plot to an end. I have an idea for the second chapter but thought we could run a few smaller plots to resolve issues that certain characters have, I'm thinking Solar, Carter and Carver.
Any ideas throw them on the Watchmen forum.

It will consist of one mission, an IC face off with our archvillain and a PvP battle between the Watchmen and the League. I have returned from a brief interview with Dr Eugene Berkley who is being held in the maximum-security hospital wing of the Zig.
During the short time we were alone together during a guard change, he confessed to me that he was planning to use the giant robot we saw destroyed in a bid to take control of Ironguard and the Iron Hands from Henry Swift.
He has agreed to provide us with information on two conditions. The first is that should he go to trial for his crimes, a representative of the Watchmen will testify to his cooperation in taking down Swift. Secondly, should he escape from prison the Watchmen will not assist in the efforts to recapture him. As our target has always been Swift I have agreed to these conditions.
Berkley has provided me with the location of Henry Swifts hideout in Paragon City. He believes that due to the heat brought down by our efforts near St Martial, he will have temporarily left the Rogue Islands. Although he is certain that security protocols will have been changed since his arrest, Berkly has provided me with some fail-safes that he had introduced in preparation for his hostile takeover.
All Watchmen should meet at The Bunker no later than 8pm for a briefing. Tonight we bring Swift to justice.

Congratulations Watchmen.
Last night, White Vampyr, High Burn, White Nightingale and myself defeated Henry Swift and dealt a significant blow to his company Ironguard and the League.
Using Berkleys information, we were able to gain entry to the Ironguard facility in Brickstown. We met with significant opposition, but the months we have spent training and fighting together paid off and we were able to incapacitate Swifts troops. Shortly after Suzi had downloaded information from Ironguards computer system though we realised we were in a trap about to be sprung.
We were teleported to a cargo ship where we were at last face to face with the man that killed Hyperion Star and Comette and caused the Rivera incident. He revealed that Jack Carver and James Carter were still alive and offered them as well as a cure for our condition in return for The Watchmen staying out of his interests. We refused and engaged Swift and his freakish protectors in combat.
Two of our opponents escaped, but we managed to defeat and apprehend Swift and his chief henchman - a powerful but mentally challenged brute called Metric Tonne. I messaged Stanley to call in Freedom Corps who were on standby. Led by the heroes Britanic and Miss Teen, the corps is now in the process of a full investigation into Ironguard and League Associated Industries. All information pertinent to our situation will be made available to Dr Furnace and the Watchmen research team.
Please meet at the Bunker at 8pm on Wednesday when we will discuss our future at Watchmen now that our objective has been achieved.
