Incidentally, is it me, or has anyone else noticed, the 4 square tp room went from 100k to 150k, and beacons went from 5k to 10k. I noticed this because I worked out how much i needed to save for it a while back, and when I came to get them came up short because of this

as long as i can remember thats been there price coz i always sell them of to give me some spare prestige when working on the base then put then back when im dun to take advantage of the power bug on our hero base

What actually is the frequency of Base Rent anyway? Is it four weekly, a specific date of each month, or what?

But as a solo baser I wanted to know when I could place items, so made a note of it, 100k for tp room, 5k for each beacon, 15k for the tporters, so knew when I reached this, and went on to do this, incidentally after the patch, and the costs had changed.

Always been 150K per TP room and 10K per beacon for me AFAIR.

The rule of thumb is : pay when the power shuts down (exactly 14 days after the date given in the message saying that your rent is/was due on <date/time>.

About the plot upgrade : I actually thought of downgrading ours before next rent because we have only one room in the extra-space right now.
Finally, I didn't do it, cos I thought it was not worth it (read : I was too lazy to do it and rebuild after).
The fact is that our base uses really more space that we really need (about 25% of space used by decorative rooms). We could "reformat" and pack an ugly base with maximum functionality in a minimum of space. But I'm never going to do that. We're paying more than some other SG which provide the same functionality. But our base has a personality of its own now.

Amen to that man. We're on the 12x12 plot and really, aside from a MAHOOSIVE teleporter room, we really don't need most of that space. In fact, aside from the workshop going from 2x2 to 3x4 and therefore being a LOT less cluttered, no functionality has changed whatsoever from when we had the 8x12. Still, whenever I fly round the base I feel a sense of pride

Because the timer is a two week one which resets as soon as you pay, so by paying when it appears you have to pay every 2 weeks, whereas by paying when your base gets locked you only have to pay every 6 weeks.

An interesting little observation about the effect of the rent change - when I first started playing about a year ago, the SGs at the bottom of the top 100 list had about 4 million Prestige. That increased to over 5 million during my first year - but since the rent overhaul patch went live, the bottom SGs have now jumped to around 6.5 million.

Hell, just send it live regardless - we've got killer lag and serious instability anyway, so we may as well save some Prestige on it.
