En/En Knockback - why is it so rubbish??

And this here, kids, is one of the reasons why the toggledrop nerf should have never happened.

Toggledrop nerf was right to happen. I just wasnt expecting so across-the-board nullification of the whole concept.

Hehe, you've heard of the devs right? They don't do subtle changes.

yet knockback gets 100%?
[/ QUOTE ]
Knockback doesn't get 100% does it? I always thought that could be overcome too.
I believe it is, although I'm going partially off info from a friend as I can't find any hard numbers on this forum or the US ones.
I have tried using it in PvP matches though and with anyone who has any defence against it at all, I've NEVER managed to get knockback against them, unless I've been lucky enough to drop the relevant toggle.
Bearing in mind as well, out of all the Energy attacks, most of the ones designed for knockback do very little damage. the only one I can think of that does a decent amount is Power Burst, things like Power Push do very little damage, whihc makes most of my attacks somewhat useless for knockback.
We built this city on Rock and Roll!

Knockback should stack like holds. If you slap 2 blaster holds it will break acrobatics. Same should apply with knockback. Make it properly stackable and increase the knockback chance a bit. This would make it more usefull in pvp.

Then BFs should protect against it like they do holds. I think it says that BFs do protect against knockback but ive never seen it work.
I like the -dam idea.
Yeah, BF's do protect against knockback. That's why you can break out of Telekenisis (which is purely knockback) with them, but it's at a mighty cost of 4 BF's.

With enough they negate Repel, not KB iirc.
And I think it'd be good to give Energy an unrestistable knockback chance, as opposed to another secondary effect. But then, they'd need to tweak Fire again, the secondary on that is just DoT and is easily negated in team PvP.

[/ QUOTE ]TK is hold and repel, not KB.
Back when I was arenaing without acrobatics, I thought BFs did work against knockback. I don't know how many do you actually need, because the KB magnitude in attacks seems to vary. (like we found out in the grounded case)
ps. yeah and telekinesis and force bubble do repel, not knockback.
pps. I wish the devs would remove the KB from explosive blast and energy torrent, to make them more useful in PvE teams.
3 BFs are generally enough to counter knockback, a few things have higher mag. Btw speaking of fun things to do, press rest and pop 10 or 12 bfs to counter the immob mag from rest.
50s
controllers: Ill rad , grav rad, fire kin, ice kin
blaster: ice em
scrapper: spines sr

Off the top of my head, its 9 or 10 I believe. Every tank properly farming for damage badges knows this

*slams head against wall repeatedly*
Repel and Knockback are not the same!!! That's it, I'm putting this in the sig!
