FF weirdo concept build, need ideas :p

Yup, it's that time again. With Iddy, my controller who scraps, rapidly going on 40 I'm starting to think of new amusing and weird builds that might work for me somehow.

What I've gotten so far is by stacking FF's dispersion bubble with hover, maneuvers, combat jumping and weave I can get better defense than a non-eluding SR scrapper.

Except that's kind of where I run out of ideas for what to do with it. Defenders aren't the AT I'm most familiar with either, so that definately doesn't help either. So basically, what would an SR-level defense defender be doing, besides not getting hit a whole awful lot?

Suggestions plx.

Telling Jokes?

I don't think you have many options. You could blast with your secondary or become a profesional leach.

I really should do something about this signature.

Firing Dark blasts all over the place? The -ToHit from Dark should make you even harder to hit

[edit] Actually, I'd probably skip weave because of the heavy cost in powers to get it - you'll need Stamina with all those toggles, after all! I'd look to slot at least one of the Dark cones for -ToHit, possibly both of them. They have a base 9% debuff approx, which adds up to an awful lot of missed attacks once they're slotted and stacking!

Well, my FF/NRG specialized in KB and damage, but then ED came and now all she can do is Bubble and KB... If you're not taking energy to maximize KB, or Psi/Rad to do damage, you're propably going to get bored with FF pretty fast...

So NRG is the best secondary for a FF defender?

In their opinion, yes. In my opinion other secondaries can be just as much fun as psi, rad and energy. I love /Dark on my bubbler and have never gotten bored playing him on teams. A person's characters are what they make of them, not what others would make of them... Also note that advice given further upthread was for a specific build concept so possibly those opinions' validity only extends to that specific concept (or possibly not ).

A Dark/Dark is possibly the safest, stacked TT and Nightfall is a 20% debuff. With slotting you could make yourself and your team safer.

I'm not sure this would work but you could try AoE Electrical end drain. It does rely on getting off lots of Short Circuits very quickly. However from experience End drain is a fairly pointless exercise unless you do it very quickly. Short Circuit only drains 60% of end if fully slotted, so you'd have to apply it twice ( 8 sec recharge if you have Hasten + 3 recharges ). It might be fun on low damage teams.

It's a shame defenders don't have Fire blast really.

@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.

I almost cried when I found out that I couldn't go Dark/Fire. Probably because it would be overpowered.
