I was one of the toons in there that night, and i have to say i was disgusted with the attitude I saw. When I come into a PVP zone I expect to be attacked, ganked, dismembered.
I do not expect to have to listen to this so-called idle banter.

You go to a PvP zone to chat idle.What would happen if it was possible for PvPers to roam in regular zones and do their thing? People that cry in the name of freedom and liberalism in the game would put the best "cry me a river costume" and proclaim a new game holocaust.
You wanna go in a pvp zone and chat?Fine.But dont pretend its normal or ok cause its not. It disrupts the flow of the game in the zone and if the devs were a little smart they would have provided some CoC and RoE for the PvP zones to avoid idiotic behaviours like this.

Well villain players arent really villains. Hero players arent really heroes. I also dont think I've ever met anyone who RP'd and PVP'd at the same time other than using snappy comments on there death/victory.

As far as I can determine, PVP Zone "Code of conduct" largely consists of:
#1. You must not badge hunt in a PvP zone. Ever.
#2. You must always PvP in a PvP zone. None of this "missions" rubbish...
#3. You are not allowed to interfere in duels, unless everyone else is already.
#4. Any toon that performs well automatically becomes a "cheap FOTM build"
#5. Any team with more than two people is a "Gank Squad"
#6. You must not run away when I'm trying to hit you.
#7. Droning is cheap when you do it, when I do it it's 'good strategy'.
#8. You must not use inspirations, only I'm allowed to do that.
#9. If you kill me then you cheated and I'm reporting you.
#10. If I can't kill you then you cheated and I'm reporting you.
#11. No using your powers either, that's cheating!

Seems like there wasn't *any* flow happening in that zone to disrupt when this happened.
Marquand', when you say you were outnumbered, were you playing Hero or Villain, and how many other characters of the same faction were round?
Whenever there's a one faction outnumbering another, then things in Sirens DO tend to grind to a halt.
It isn't a FFA zone . People can't just decide to PvP each other if there's nothing from the opposite side to battle.
So maybe a bunch of people are twiddling their thumbs waiting for some numbers from the other faction to turn up?
I dunno, just the impression of things the way it was described.

I'm not sure how much of this post is in jest. There is no PvP code of conduct. There is only the official code of conduct which can be read here.
As said before, people are free to chat there if they want. Chat is allowed in PvP zones for a reason. As said before, moaning if they are severely beaten in PvP while doing it will however not gain them any sympathy.
Personally I hate moaners myself. But I will acknowledge everyones right to play the game how they want as long it does not include harassing other people.

First of all i dont put names but some people jump in the badwagon proclaiming "we do what we want" etc etc which is a bit way over the top.
Also i didnt refer to names my post was pretty general and not directly attacking to you and if it appears so apologies.

By the time I got there it was maybe 4 or 5 heroes (2 tanks a blaster, a scrapper, and possibly someone else I forget or didnt see) and 3 villains including myself.
The blaster left and another scrapper came in, plus another villain turned up. So about 4-5 vs 3-4, but with only 2 people actively playing, both villains. I asked the other player if its always this bad and was told it was good earlier but some players have a knack of bringing the zone to a halt with chatter.

Being one of the players in the zone at the time, I feel that I need to explain exactly what we were doing.
Granted, we were having a bit of a chat - but that was only because there were way more Heroes there than Villains, and with most of us being there for at least 2 hours - we were having a kind of tea break.
We were also testing temp powers on each other, for what I can only assume was to see their effectiveness against other players. We were also testing shields against an array of different attacks.
The occasions we(I - as I was the weakest AT there) were attacked; me being teleported and an attempted AS, of course I retaliated - I attacked! Had I been able to still see the stalker after he teleported away and went into hide - sure, I would have continued to attack in an attempt to get the kill. But as it was, I couldnt see him, so what was I expected to do?
At the end of the day, we are all real people, and we all have the basic instinct of speech. So chat is gonna happen. Whether in a pvp zone or doing missions with other heroes/villains. I seriously don't see where the problem is and to be honest, I am slightly confused!
As for the petitioning, good luck with that!

Teabreak time then. Defiant PvPers is a PvP Global channel and might be good for raising interest in a zone at any particular time or to ask who and what is PvPing in anyway .
I've had a great time on a couple of occasions in RV from it. Might help .

seems blocki and slap my DE pet into oblivion via mud pots and that temp stun from one of the early aurora mish's (the stun on capsules) does actually work on players
I dunno why MD lost it but tbh its perfectly fine if people feel like going in Sirens and wanting to chat in there. What is not ok is when they get their butts handed to them for being sitting ducks to start moan in broadcast/locals/global channels,call reporters and proclaim this the end of the world as we know it.
There is nothing wrong with people using sirens as a chatting place just as long as they understand that this chatroom is located in the middle of Baghdat during hostilities prime time.
