Offensive Psi Defender
[ QUOTE ]
One idea I fancy trying is the empath offender duo. While empathy is generally regarded as the worst set for building offenders, if you paired two together to exchange buffs, they should be awesome.
The logical extension of this is the all-empath offensive super team, with everyone with tripple stacked fortitude, AB and enough regen/recovery auras to make a regen scrapper look positivly underpowered.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Empath Offender duo/team sounds like a neat idea, but I just can't see it being better than a Kin-duo or an all-Rad team to be honest
Also you can't triple stack Fortitiude on everyone... can you?

they are blastfenders
[/ QUOTE ]Offenders
[/ QUOTE ]
the term offender is generic and can be taken out of the context in which it is intended and as thus lead to confustion as every set has offensive capabilities. In terms of player coined terms blastfender bridges the gap more adequately as if you have even the most bvasic grasp of the COH ATs you will know what the context is. Call something an offender and an alarming amount of people will thing you are talking about COV (when playing on cross atlantic servers and finding lvl 31 inv tanks who dont ahve stamina and ask why we tell him to turn toggles on and tank, i feel its best not to overestimate anyone )

Awesome... Did not know that!
*rolls an empath*
My favourite Offender CONCEPT had to be the Rad/* Offender who let their teammates die so they could cast Vengeance and then go to town with Fallout. As such, you could SKIP Radient Aura. Something about being able to heal but choosing not to is just really creepy for a Defender - especially if you don't tell the PUG you just joined why I heard a team of 8 such folks could lay waste to pretty much anything, but that was before (and probably why!) they made Vengeance unstackable. I never got to try that build out myself
EDIT: For missing out some important words!
Also rad/sonic is VERY impressive damage and ahve seen some crank out 600 point hits in pvp

Sonic Blast is an awesome set, damage-wise. Resistance debuffs allow your damage to exceed the damage cap, too.*
*Correct me if I'm wrong, Max!

[/ QUOTE ]Well, you're not actually exceeding the damage cap, since the damage cap is only a cap on how much damage buffs you can have, and resistance doesn't change that. What it does do is make your foes take more damage from your attacks.
Wow, so now there's the idea of an all emp/ offender team?
Crazy people.

I'll ask my Sonic/NRG blaster next time i see him
As for DM/Psi and TA/Psi I did think about that one too this morning, when I rolled NG' .. took me 10mins to decide what to try next on the ?/Psi list
Current considerations::
Kin/Psi
TA/Psi
DM/Psi
FF/Psi >.< *shudder*
... moving on, so far I'm doing testing and the fact I can drop most minions/liuets in 2/3 hits, with about 27-30% DMG increase after -RES is used, is looking nice atm.
I'll be testing the sets on Defiant till I get an accurate variance.. but I'll be posting my own findings as I go, before I create for "real".

Sonic Resonance/Psychic Blast!
[/ QUOTE ]
Only do that if you team near constantly. SR is very poor when solo and when you're up against something that resists Psi (expect to run into that in many missions beyond level 20) you'll take forever to whittle it down on your own.
Almost anything that resists Psi resists it heavily. The other damage types have neutral, vulnerable and resistant enemies across all levels. Other than Clockwork, Psi has few vulnerable enemies but still plenty of neutral and resistant enemies.
Psi is ok if you want to be different from what you percieve as the majority on the EU servers. Unless you have accurate numbers the ratio of /Psi on the EU servers is pure conjecture.

Yay, go Rad/Sonic. I recently beat a Ice/SS tank on mine, at level 37, with a PvE build..... damage was slow, but that'd surely change when I respec in the PvP build!
*/Psi is so overused :P

I've always wanted to do a themed offender team. If anyone else wants to try the whole 8 xrad/rad I would SO love to try this. I think rad/rad would be the best thing to have 8 of because EF+AM+Leadership alone, on all 8 people pretty much provides you with all the defence, accuracy, damage, stamina, recharge and status protection you could ever wish for.

Why /rad? Other secondaries would be equally/more useful.

Or most (non-nuke) AoE at least: 1 Cone, 1 PBAoE and 1 targeted AoE, all moderate damage.
Archery is a decent second with the non-draining nuke on top of the Cone and targeted AoE.
Dark has 2 moderate and 1 minor Cone. Sonic has 1 moderate and 2 minor Cones. The rest has 2 AoE attacks.
If only Haze didn't cause random knockback...
Yeah, Haze is annoying for that. One of the reasons I like Sonic so much is you have some nice mezz effects and xero knockback except for one of the cones which has 100% chance of knockback (whihc makes it somehting you can depend on if you need it).
I would've suggested Rad/Sonic for the -res debuffs... but then how much debuffing do you need on a team with 8 RI/EF/LR?

I'm very tempted to give this a go. Oh, the names you could come up with for a violent empath! It's almost too much to resist. Right now I'm thinking of calling her Love Hurts.

LOL if I knew I'd get this kinda of response I would mentioned it sooner.. yay me
I'm in for it
Heh, well if we can get a team of 8 together, I might very well go for it. More names:
Tough Love
Yes Hard Feelings
Heartbreaker
Lovebite (or Love Bites)
This stuff writes itself
I think Heartbreaker sounds pretty cool
Dark Miasma is very good for offender builds as every single power is beneficial to yourself, including the rez (it's also a very nice auto-hit PBAoE dissorient and debuff), and they make it fairly safe to rain down Vast Swaithes of AoE Death(tm).
