hasten for a claws/regen

Hi,

I have a question and would also like your opinion on something.

Is hasten worth having if I have 2 recharge on each fighting power, and 3 on all clicky regen powers?

Reason I am asking is that I have one last power I can chose in my build when I finally reach 50, and the only thing I can find that may be slightly useful is hasten or stealth (or something else if you can think of something).

For your info, I have pasted my build below. I am just about to reach level 35.

Personally I'd say hasten wasn't a good pick there. With 2 rechargers in each attack you can have a nice attack chaim going with Claws anyway. I wouldn't take the fighting pool, but that's just personal preference. I'd suggest switching revive to 49 and taking maybe Laser Beam Eyes at 47 to get an extra ranged hitter in (I find it's great for pulling runners of squishies). I'd also really say get Focus earlier... much earlier. IIRC it's available at 18 and is your best single target attack, with the added bonuses of being ranged and having good knockback/down. Of course if you're already close to 50 that's a moot point.

Either way, Claws/Regen is hellish fun, enjoy

Try to get hasten early and try to keep it up, claws is fast enough as it is and if you get hasten there will be almost no need to put in 1 let alone 2 recharges in uyour attacks. I have it on my lvl 32 scrapper and I must say i could not be without it, also helps recharging stuff like instant healing and MoG. Instant healing takes 650 seconds base recharge and only lasts a minute, so it's best to get hasten for that to cut it down.

Plus you can invest slots into something more valuable or jsut keep em in attacks and put in stuff like accuracy, damage etc.

Total agree that hasten for a regen is nice to take early as helps with getting secondary powers back up quicker (as well as attacks).
Those recharges can then be changed to accuracy or used elsewhere.
Also don't know if you have considered taking fly instead of SJ. Replacing cj with air superiority is great as another attack, and more particularly 1 which can knockdown foes stopping them from attacking, wonderful on most bosses I find.

Yeah, Air superiority is a great attack, altho' it's not actually a knockdown power Anyway, if I were you I'd get hasten in mid 20s, It comes really handy in prolonged fights. Also I strongly recommend you to remove those DmgRes from Resilience since it will offer you only 8% res 3 slotted. Add TH Buffs to Follow Up instead, especialy if you have only 1 Acc in your attacks. Also I'd definitely get Energy Torrent, it deals descent damage and it's got a pretty wide cone (About 35 Deg. I think)

I'd say Hasten is always a good pick but you don't really need it for Claws or Regen. It is useful, though.

Out of Hasten and Stealth I'd definitely pick Hasten, though. Personally I think I'd take Spin, or Energy Torrent for another knockback cone, but I'm a big fan of AoE damage for scrappers.

With resiliance, it should stack with tough when I finally get it at lvl35 tonight. With tough and resiliance, I shouldnt need to worry that much about the damage I take. Anything that tough & resiliance doesn't take my health regen should handle (well thats the idea anyway).

With the follow up power, I currently have 2 acc on it. If I put on tohit buffs on the power instead, what effect would that do? Would that reduce my ability to hit with the power? If I don't get a hit with follow up, then the tohit buffs wouldn't be used or would it?

Would it be better to have one acc and one tohit, at least until I get focus accuracy and then (depending on the accuracy of the powers) slot it for tohit buff?

Those TH Buffs in Follow Up will increase your accuracy after you've used it, it wont effect the FU itself. Personally I'd slot it with 2 Acc, 3 TH buff and 1 recharge (Altho' it perma out of box and you probably won't need it). Also I suggest you to swap one recharge for an accuracy in all your attacks. Also don't slot resilence, 3 SOs will give you only 3-4% Res to S/L, which isn't worth slots IMO.

Sorry.. just to be clear. If I miss with FU, does the Tohit buffs still work or do I need to have a successful hit with FU for them to work?

You need to have a successful hit for TH buff to work.

btw I don't think you need 2 recharge reductions in shockwave, it's only 10 seconds.

The offical prima guide states that 1 of the effects of air superiority is 100% knockdown. So if it isn't a knockdown power (as well as damaging & suppressing flight) I don't know wot a knockdown power is!

Ice Slick is a knockdown power, Air superiority is -fly debuff power with a fancy animation that can't be avoided.

Only problem with powers like Air Sup for a weapon based scrapper like claws is that theres the slight delay in popping your claws back out before the next attack in the chain. Kinda derails the idea of attack speed (for me at least)

Gotta agree, although I don't think the animation stops you in your tracks if you're walking towards the enemy at the same time you launch your attack. (at least with melee attacks)

I think you're right tbh.. but that just means that you can only use it as an opener. I suppose the other time you could use it is after focus, or shockwave where the enemy is likely to be on his back anyway.

I have a lvl 31 Claw/Regen, and would just like to say that hasten is a great power to take for claws and regeneration. More Attacks going off, more heals available, and having QR and Stamina the end to use it.

Look at it another way............

Using 2 enhancement slots in hasten for recharge

OR

Slotting all of your 5 or 6 attacks with 2 recharges thus taking up 10-12 enhancement slots.

Could you really not find a better use for these slots ie damage and accuracy.

Have fun.

Heh - soo.. that's what you'd call a "situational" power then
