Sands of Mu Withdrawal Symptoms
Flurry does have a very narrow cone, and Flurry is all smashing damage, and is, hence, a very poor substitute for Sands of mu, which is the best temp power I've ever received.
Defiant 50's
Many and varied!
@Miss Chief
Flurry is [censored], don't take it. A much better choice is to find a player in the 25-30 range who has the sands mission, exemp down, and get it again. Clicking the glowie will award the temp power, and the mission can be reset infinitely(until the time runs out) to get the temp power to lots of people.
Getting a full attack chain on an ice tank is pain. Mines sitting at 50 and still doesn't have one and I still use boxing in there just to fill in(Even worse, i've actually put 3 extra slots in it!)
Unless you're fire/ice for the ice patch/burn combo, getting any sort of attack chain and damage

If I remember correctly, I took Flurry on the Private in an attempt to relive the glory of Sands of Mu, and while it truthfully failed to deliver, I've always enjoyed Flurry. Would probably still have it if I didn't get rid of it while respeccing to a more PvP oriented build.
Hmmmm - thanks for the advice folks; at present my last power pick pre-Ancillaries is still some way off, but I have to admit Flurry's looking tempting.
Everything else I could take at that level's a bit of a donkey too, so I might as well take a donkey that looks a bit like a fun power (if I squint slightly).

[/ QUOTE ]Trust me, the damage is horrible. If you want a pool power attack, take AS.
Air Sup FTW......... seriously I took it to fill an attack chain on a scrapper and my scrapper still uses it at 50. Its possibly the only pool power attack worth having, minor control, alright damage, quick animation (not as quick as boxing but the control makes up for it)

Hmmm, you're starting to convince me. Flight's already open for Sally, so taking AS wouldn't "waste" a pool slot there (not that it greatly matters for the 38 pick!), so will give it a go on test and see how it feels.
In 3 levels time.

Flurry happens to have the highest damage of the power pool attacks available. That's pretty horrible, alright. The only negative thing about Flurry is the long rooted activation time (especially if you miss).

[/ QUOTE ]DPS or damage per power use?
Flurry is measured in DPY not DPS

Yesterday my Ice/Ice tank suffered the painful expiry of the Sands of Mu, re-opening a gap in her attack chain that needs filling as quickly as possible.
At present she has Frozen Fists, Ice Sword and Frost, at 35 (she's currently 33) she'll be taking Greater Ice Sword. She has 3-slotted Hasten running as much as possible.
The first question for more experienced Icers is whether the Greater Ice Sword would close up the attack chain again.
The second, if the answer to the first is "no", is what's recommended for doing so? Flurry appeals a little, if only because it reminds me of my beloved Sands (and the Speed pool's already open), but I gather it will need quite a bit of slotting to bring damage up to Sands level, and even then will be a single target thing rather than Sand's short cone...
