can someone describe tornado to me?

the power description doesnt cut it.

Do I usmmon the tornado where I like or does it come out of me like a cone attack?

Is it stupid? does it aggro other mobs? does it seem to aggro to only one baddie until it is dead?

does it do knockback or knockup?

Is the damage any good?

Is the fear component the same as with rain powers or is it the "hold" style fear?

Is the disorient reliable? Does it happen much?

Its basically a pet. It does Knockback and will chase. So it can knockback and pursue mobs all over the shop, happily barreling thru others to get to him. Each time it does a small amount of damage.

I detest it but I'm Illusion / Storm. If you were Fire, Earth or Ice it might be useful combined with your immobilize powers as they prevent knockback. Also it is reckoned to be useful against AVs, I've never had it long enough to try on them.

Didn't know there were Fear or Disorientate aspects. I've never seen them work in action anyway.

Summon it where you like.

It can aggro other mobs if your not careful... but it has a range though so if you retreat a bit if it looks like its going to aggro and it will boomerang back to your side.

Knockback, with some knockup against walls.

With 3 slotted damage it does a decent amount of tick damage.

The flee type... although it seems to happen ever so rarely.

It will stun minions and lieutenants, and will stick at that target til it's disorientated then move on to the next target. The disorientate is reliable.

I love it on my Ice/Storm troller....but as Carnifax said it can be a bit of a pain if you aren't Fire/Ice/Earth which has the AoE immobs which prevent knockback for 10 secs at a time.

It does a massive defense debuff so it's very nice for AVs

Hmmm. All these extra debuffs & mezzes it does which I never knew about. Tempted to try a Storm / Dark in the Recluse PvP event now.

I'm still scared of it though after a Storm defender let loose in Striga Tunnels before and the entire Banished Pantheon Cult seemed to aggro from it. Cue 6 totems and their hundreds of assorted mates...

The disorient on it stacks damn fast in sirens too when I've been on the wrong end of it >_>

For PvP, no stormie should be without it. If you think hurricane is annoying, try being stuck under a tornado

For PvE it's situational to say the least, i use it quite often, but my regular team are all so good now that sometimes i do it just to liven things up

Very nice for AVs, when solo and makes a pretty decent "oh c**p" running away power.

I'm a firm beleiver thats theres no such thing as a gimped power, just uses that haven't been found yet (except jumpkick, no excuse there really). Take gale, most hate it but i find it useful and would probably miss it on occassion if it wasn't available

i'm going 3 dam 1 end as it's expensive to summon (i am ill/storm though so end is tight) and it does nice damage if it stays on one target (i.e. an AV). Not containment damage though unfortunately, but that would be very nice indeed. Could slot def debuff i suppose, but storm has other -def powers (as does earth) and i think it's a fairly hefty -def on tornado anyway. A friend of mine also put 1-2 recharge in his to make it perma as it's so damn good in PvP.

1.Its a location based power. A circle appears and you click on the ground where you want it to appear, the character points a hand out and fires a gust of wind in the direction (s)he's facing...This wind CAN knock enemies back, akin to Gale. Then the tornado appears.
2. It is on a vague 'leash' to the storm summoner, it can go to attack enemies but equally wont go out of a certain range. You can force it to come back to you by retreating.
Rather peevingly its 'aggro choices' tend to be suspect, i've had it focus on one person and other times do what i wanted it to 'attack enemies in a confined area' then dart out the room and swirl at some other person in the corner.
3.It does knockback, methinks in like i4 it did Knockup
4. Tornado isnt what you use for damage. It does ticks of 1 damage. Sadly i do not know how many.
5. If any fear i've seen spread, its the 'run away ahh' fear
6. Disorient is low, albeit consistent. I've heard unsettling ideas from others (cant find solid fact) that the magnitude of the disorient will be lowered so in PVE it'll only disorient minions on first sweep

If slotted with 3 dmg it does much much more. Hard to come with exact numbers but just used it and it did ticks of 10 dmg to 2+ lieuts. It will deal up to 30 ticks of dmg.

Ooh sorry, kinda false facts from me there..
I should have rememebered..especially with tornado doing a casual 30 damage to level 1s when Chiefy wants to show people the insane knockback possible with tornado on weaklings XD

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, it does slightly under double of what it does unslotted, just like every other power
