fire/kin PvE build?
Kinetics:
Transfusion - Best AoE heal in game - 6 slot 2 Accuracy 3 Heal 1 End Red/Rech as required
Siphon Power - You'll be spamming this until fulcrum nice damage boost, possibly worth respecing out after lvl 38 if you dont plan to exemplar. 2-3 Slots 1-2 Accuracy 1 Recharge
Repel - Never taken it, not a fan
Increased Denisty - Prevents Knockback, Holds, Immobolises, Disorients, and increases Resistance to smashing & energy damage. Worth some slots if you have any space.
Speed Boost - Now we talking everyone loves a Kin when you get SB 2-3 End mod Possibly range for PvP.
Inertial Reduction - Click super jump, unsuppressed in PvP if you dont want to take a travel power take this. Although personally I recomend leaving this out and getting jumping pool for acrobatics because you gonig to be in the centre of the action and knockback can mean team wipe
Transference - Getting buffed in i7 Practically full endurance to everyone around the enemy and drains their's, important with end heavy primaries and nukes. 1-2 Accuracy 2-3 end mod 1-2 End Red/Recharge
Fulcrum shift - the Daddy of the kinetics set AoE version of Siphon Power, damage cap ftw 1-2 Accuracy 2-3 Recharge.
From my limited experience of fire leave out Flares and Rain of Fire both terrible powers

theRegulator Empathy/Energy/Soul Defender
Total Inertia Ice Blast/Kinetics/Psy Corruptor
Total Inferno Ice Blast/Thermal/Leviathan Corruptor

Yup
Flares - Sucks big time. Can be useful early on to get an attack chain going but the damage on it is so feeble you won't use it to any worthwhile effect past lvl 20.
Fire Blast - Great for a level one power and well worth spending a few slots on. low end cost, reasonable damage and quick recharge.
Blaze - Your highest damaging 'standard' attack. Short range but as a kinetic, you'll be in the middle of the action enyway.
Fireball - Mixed views from me. High damage but the AoE makes it a bit of an aggro magnet.
Aim - Great power, 3 slot for recharge.
Rain Of Fire - Scatters mobs and gets you aggro for feeble damage. Can be useful in very specific teams, where you can stack it with things like Ice Storm and AoE holds but way too situational to be taken over any of the other powers in the set.
Blazing Bolt - Very good for solo play as a buildup and snipe will let you hurt one target massively before they know what's happening. Depends on playstyle though.
Fire Breath - Good damage and a cone attack meaning you can get a few in it. Slow animation though.
Inferno - Best. Nova. In. The. Game Damage output on it is great and mines available every 2-3 mobs in a mission for mass kills.
Think that covers them all but can't remember.
Repel is fun to toy around, i took it just out of curiosity and respec'd out of it when i could. Not because it was a useless power, but because there was other power that i deemed more important.
As a kinetic you want to be in the middle of the action and you want them to stand near you for transfusion/transference. However, you can use repel to "lock" boss in a room corner and playinb pinball with him. Quite fun
If you have the spare slot power, i'd say try it at least once on test server.
I can only suggest to read this guide on the US forum, though the primary is Ice, all the info on kinetic is very informative :

Yup, I took it to get an attack chain going, with stacked Siphion Speed and Hasten, Fire Blast will be up most of the time past level 20. I'm respecing it out once I get a respec.
I will say I'm enjoying rain of fire on my fire/kin so far though. It also helps protect me from angry people with clubs since I generate more aggro than a nuclear powered aggro generating machine on crack.
Agreed, rains actully help in the sense that angry mobs will run away from it and while they run they are not wacking at you!
Rain of Fire on my fire blaster is used as a defence thing rather than an attack. Scatters mobs when the melee gets too much for a blastery type, and nice for that, but be careful because every bugger and his dog will want to shoot you after they escape the shower.

I second this. RoF makes a great "scatterer", but watch the incoming aggro. I have a number of alts and have found my fire/kin to be one of the best for taking down the big boys. I solo more than team and so have played a necro/dark MM to lvl 40 and a EM/EA Brute so far to lvl 33. Fighting one of the nasty EB's solo - Ballista 1, resulted in faceplants for both the MM and the Brute, but my fire/kin managed it without any problems at all. And now I have the snipe power...muahahaha..
Hmm, you'll never convince me on RoF i'm afraid. As I said, it can be useful but it's way too situational to be taken at the expense of other powers.
With regards to it's scatter method, I found on both my lvl 40 fire corruptor and lvl 31 fire blaster that it's a major double edged sword. It scatters the mobs and they run but that takes them all of 2 seconds to get out of it. In that time, you may get off 1, maybe 2 powers. You then have the entire mob caught in it aggro'd on you as a squishy and opening up on you the second they get out of the AoE. The only time it's any use is if solo or in a team with a tank to re-gather aggro. If that is the case, any tank worth his salt will be mighty upset at you scattering aggro in the first place.
RoF scatters mobs, it does not manage aggro and the very brief respite it gives is not worth the aggro it generates unless soloing really.

I know this is about /kins, but RoF works much better if there's a Tar Patch underneath .
CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>
siphon power, although not "needed" once you get fulcrum, is great for debuffing the damage of your foe. iirc, it has a base 20% dmg debuff. As for RoF, with I7 it SHOULD have more use as dmg buffs affect RoF as well. Still I agree its a pretty situational power.
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"
Total Cat @Stagefright
I've noticed on my low level fire/kin that if I siphon speed of a boss then RoF him when he's on low health not only can he not escape but you get loads of scourge hits because the rain is ticks. I get really quite angry when I don't get my scourge on individual attacks so it works out pretty nicely for me.
Also, mayhem missions, I've been scoring auto-hit kinetics buffs of alleyways of object and then just RoF'ing on top of them so they all explode: 'Bonus time 5 mins for destroying all sorrts of junk!.'
thx guys
Has ne1 gt ne exp with this build, could ne1 show me wat i should avoid, wats nessary? thx
