Spines/Regen, what can villains do agianst them?

Hey, so messing about in sirens last night and it was pretty good fun. Just me as a fire/kin corruptor and a few others on heroes. So we did a few duels. One that really stood out was the one vs. the spines/regen. I couldn't even dent the regen rate, and that was without instant healing running, while the damage output at range was just silly. So what can villains do against them beside bringing a while team along to spike them?

One word

Kinetics!

I am kinetics! Transfusion didn't seem to affect the regen rate. I imagine siphon speed got pretty annoying, but I didn't have time to stack more than one before I was dead.

Ice/Cold Corr.

-regen in Benumb (I think) and a hell of a lot of slows so they can really only use their clicky heals once in a fight.

In theory that's great but you still need something to stop yourself getting killed by the spines. It's not like staying out of melee range helps

Works better with Hurricane

Ice/Rad then, slows, acc debuff and a regen debuff

Yeah, might work. Ice/Dark would be better perhaps, with the fear and tar patch. Also, it's possible to stack enough holds to pop the mez protection.

Ah but to add to the reason you weren't fairing so well...

That scrapper is a US Transfer and has many, many HO's

A posion MM would screw up Regen alot, -heal, -regen, -acc, if you had, maybe Necro, Lich could use Fearsome Stare I guess. The -regen of robots would be nice aswell.

Would that scrapper be Spyka? We tried some test with me as Bilharzia vs. Spyka, not that difficult to hold with Dom up - 3 applications but that is Mag 18 , and there's an item of power mez resist bonus in there as well, without the IOP it took 2 holds. Traps for Corruptors and MMs has a -Regen with poison trap, you can easily get two of those out at once, tricky to use I know.

I'm with Lady on this.

One of my main PvP alts is an ice/ice Corruptor and I love fighting spine/regen in one on one. Their typical reaction to a one on one from a corruptor is to snigger but they're quite easy to beat with that particular build.

Snow Storm along with swift/SS is quite key as you just drop this on them to keep them well back out of range. Spam away with benumb, infrigidate, sleet and fill the gaps with your freeze ray hold and normal ice attacks.

As long as you survive the initial onslaught and don't get too close, it's just a matter of time before you bring them to such a grinding halt it's then down to patience(and good end management) before you break their mez protection or chip away enough HP for them to drop.

It's not an 'always win' situation but it's always very close

Yeah, Spyka. Mag 18? That's just silly

Tried again against another Spines/regen. He couldn't kill me if I stood next to him, transfusioning and sipon speed and power all the time. I couldn't kill him either!

Works well against any regen due to the amount of clickys....

However if the spines regen happens to have tp then you are toast

I can't kill a good Kin without lucky crits or getting the jump on one before he can really lock me down.

Short duration. Besides fear is pretty buggy, and you can easily run.

I suppose it'd be easier with being able to get away from 'em.

Grab Combat jumping, Hurdle, and bounce around spamming Impale for teh easy wins.

Nah, had a tank try that against me the other day and the animation on it is so slow that you can just moved back out of range as soon as you see the flash of white.

Actually found it funny against the tank when he was trying it and I just danced back out of range before he had even rematerialised and hit him again
