If its just the pet that's bugging people, why take it, how many take all 4 of their epics on CoH (get thee behind me torrent, I will have none of you)
The two AoE's make the sets look juicy to most brutes for agro grabbing or AoE holding, not being forced to take the pet, anymore than anyone forces you to take Torrent

i know you dont have to take them

If the mobs attack your pet rather than you you will build fury a little slower, so you need to make sure you get more aggro. Shouldn't be too hard. Or you could just not take the pet.
