Femme Fatales poser pics!!
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do anything, bar of course rocket science.
Like absolutely everything in life, if you take time to learn it you can do it - some of the guys have spent a looooong time working on their models, so whilst not as hard as nuclear physics, it does require some degree of skill - and patience, cos Poser is a git sometimes.
Still surely Poser 6 is one of the easiest 3d modelling programmes out there, compared to dozen others I've seen (and some tried). Sure you'll spend time working on the 3d models, but Poser 6 offers clear GUI and help menu unlike the other programs.
Actually I found Poser anything but clear and helpful. For me it's dated and clunky - Maya6 is far more helpful when it comes to GUI, though obviously a lot more complex.
Anyway, as I said, everything is easier once you take the time to learn it, how easy depends on the individual.

Like most things, to be good at it takes practice.
I've only used a demo of Poser, however would agree that Maya offers a bit more freedom when it comes to GUI. But when it comes to animation 3D Max is king!

Seconded.
Also much more rewarding.. Trying to create a full high poly model from splines is tough but lotsa fun.
True, but like said, Poser isn't that complex and from programs I've tested it's one of the simplest for creating a human model.
Sure 3d Max has alot of variety and I've used it, just sometimes gets on my nerves and consumes my cigarettes. Anyway it sure is rewarding, but I wouldn't really recommend it for person who's new to that stuff.
However, never tried this Maya6. Heard of it though, but never really tried. Need to test it out sometime when I'm not being drowned by work and orders.
That's nice electrical effects, without Photoshopping it a little.

If there was any real danger of getting caught most of my friends would be doing serious time now...well probably not that serious but you get the point.

[/ QUOTE ]In no way was I suggesting that people should use it to download illegal material, I was just Off-topically stating that it's an useful protocol, which in itself is in no way illegal of course

DAZ Studio is free, and there's also a 3D starter bundle available as a free download. Studio can import Poser models and scenes. I'm not sure if it can export scenes in Poser format, though.
Thanks for that, gonna download it now.
Maya does seem quite complicated, let me buuld up my skills using other programs first then i'll take a look at it, which will be in several years
Practice (and patience and maybe cigarettes) makes perfect.
sounds sweet im gonna download it too
but it will take me ages to actually use it im not good with computers or their programme thingys
I am going to make it my life's task, to seek out the software required and teach myself, an absolute technophobe, to do this...
Brilliant work, incredibly pretty, Wauw!
Edit: I also cannot believe I missed this... Ah, hold on, no, I know why, didn't frequent much around April due to circumstances.
Excellent work, makes me a tad jealous that I can't use stuff like that.
10 and a bit out of 10
The program is very expensive, if my memory serves me correct (upgrading Poser 5 to 6 was 100 or 200£).
But like Max said, get it via 'other' routes.
Anyway the program is fun and easy to use, just started getting into it myself and you don't need to be a rocket sciencetist to work it.
