I want something different...
Sally Storm - MA/Invun. She is a great scrapper.
If you dont like SR I doubt you will like Invun though..

Inv is the only scrapper I've not played past the late 20s, I found a dislike for it long before then. I personally found that DA felt nicer than it (though I am sure that inv gets more usefull res there's just nothing "special" in the set, while DA has other ways to mitigate damage)
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk

Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
I think the problem is the less common combos are the ones which don't work quiet so well or end up being hard work.
I would say that from the scrapers I've seen around, INV is the least comon set. Maybe pick BS/INV?
i've seen quite a few bs/inv, i'd recomend going with katana/inv it simply cost less end and invulnur has 3 toggles you need to keep running.
Got a BS/Rgn.
Not keen on Katana.
How about Claws?
Spines like the idea hate the look, if I was meant to be a hedgehog I'd be living in a hedge!
Claws should be interesting with the I7 buff, but then again expect more people to roll one.
BS/something other than regen would be the rarest propably, I'd go with BS/Inv
BS/Invuln is good, but a total end hog. (probably used to that with DA though). I have an end redux in every attack and every toggle, 3 slotted stamina as well as Conserve power 3 slotted for recharge and unless I use hasten every time it's up I have end trouble in long fights until Conserve power comes back up.
It is a good set, invincibility is wonderful, but it does make you very aware of your surroundings, You always have to get into the middle of the largest group to get decent Def, but then ranged attacks just kill you. I usually try to use some cover or fly over the top and drop down into the middle so I get a good buff.

Why is everyone mocking my primary build?
BS/Inv is a very simple, rugged set, which needs quite a fair bit of endurance management. Put one end redux in most things, three-slot stamina, and you can even Fly with full toggles and not lose endurance. Add in say, focused accuracy to break the defense of purples, and you'll need either conserve power or some accolades to keep things peachy.
People say BS is boring, and yes, they're right. But it more than anything else defines the word SMASH! for me. Truly, if you want something dead, it dies without much fuss. There is an almost silly amount of single target damage, and theres a fair bit of AoE in there as well. The final, most powerfull attack, Head Splitter, is actually a very narrow cone attack, hitting anyone in a straight line with its full high damage. BS has plenty of knockdown / up in its later powers too, and with Air Sup in your chain, you can even keep bosses bouncing around, unable to attack.
Inv can be seen as equally no-fuss, just hit the toggles, dive in, and so long as you stay away from Psychic enemies, you (mostly) wont die. (Dont dive in while your teammates are planning, for petes sake! You are NOT a tanker. ) Theres also Unstoppable, but there seems to be a huge divide between the pro-MoGers and the anti-MoGers, with me being one of the former. On a scrapper, you dont have to deal with tanker-agro, so the fallout from Unstoppable isnt as dangerous as people think, so long as you have dull pain ready. Myself, I cant pass up having my damage resistance capped out.
This no-nonsense approach to defense, packed with auto/toggle powers, means you can concentrate more on attacking, unlike say, DA. I suppose that compensates for BS's long animation time (and I still feel Disembowel needs to be looked at).
Combining the two can help with ToHit, as Invincibility will boost your ACC while your BS attacks lower enemies DEF. This pretty much gives you a free accuracy bonus on this build, meshing well with the added damage of BS. You do admittedly need to take a lot of powers to get it to work at its best - taking all of them cant hurt.
The best way to picture a BS/Inv scrapper is a panzer tank. Slow to attack, petrol-hungry, but very well armed and armored.
Necrobond - 50 BS/Inv Scrapper made in I1
Rickar - 50 Bots/FF Mastermind
Anti-Muon - 42 Warshade
Ivory Sicarius - 45 Crab Spider
Aber ja, natrlich Hans nass ist, er steht unter einem Wasserfall.
im running a Claws/invuln alt right now. at the moment it combines well with the end heavy inv to the end light claws. Mind you, i dont have more than 1 toggle yet so it might still be to early to say for sure.

"When I say interview, I mean engage in combat and defeat..." -Laura Brunetti, on how to deal with Warriors.
My main is a lvl 42 spines/invul scrapper. It was the build that appealed the most to my n00b-ness. It is pretty end heavy, even with stamina and end reductions in evrything but the passives, but it does rock! It's not a tank-substitute build but a pretty damn good damage dealer. In teams with a troller (preferably empath) or with a def i'm pretty hard to stop. You shoud try it. It takes some getting used to but the end is well worth it! I've allready had some "i'm uber!-moments" where i gutted evrything my spines got in conatct with eventhough the baddies were +2/3! Thats the awesome-ness this build can offer.
p.s. the fact that it's a pretty rare buil does make it more special imho
I was going to roll another Spines... would have picked Invuln too but they nerfed herding right before so I didn't bother. :/

Dark armour gets higher resistance than Invuln, Invuln gets Dull Pain and a bit of Defence.
World of Jackcraft.
I would recommend giving invuln a try. My MA/Invuln scrapper is now at level 46 and I have had a blast.
My feelings about invuln have fluctuated during those 46 levels. I loved it early, although the end drain was annoying. As I got into the late 20s and the early 30s I began to notice the set's weakness to energy/elemental damage types. During this phase I really struggled with a Circle of Thorns story arc. However, once I got to the late 30s, got unstoppable and filled in a few gaps with the passives, Liberty Lass became extremely strong again. I would go so far as to say that invulnerability's supposed weakness to non-smashing/lethal is a little overstated in the high levels. Most enemies are still dishing out s/l at least in part, the passives do provide some protection and, with three recharge slotted, I have unstoppable available almost every time I might need it.
Liberty Lass never dies solo, except in some exceptional circumstance such as being surprised by a sapper.
I had a lot of slots available in the 30s and have end reducers in all attacks and all toggles and my build is very end-rich indeed. Liberty Lass does not run out of endurance, despite running temp invuln, unyielding and invincibility.
I have been thinking for a while about respeccing in tough to get s/l res up to 65 per cent, but to be honest I just don't feel I need it enough. That is how comfortable I am with the invuln set at high level.
Hope that helps.
Up to now I've pretty much always gone regen, I like the lack of toggles and until recently the sheer uberness
But I want to try something different, not so much as a character build or anything, but something that has power but isn't regen. I've tried SR before and not been a fan, I already have a DM/DA which is slow (played my first char as DM/DA to 26).
So I'm looking at Inv, what are the pros/cons of Inv and what is the best Primary to try with it?
