Paragon Standard - Issue 4

((It's 1am, I can't be bothered with the IC blurb. Issue4 - Monday 6th March, is finally up, IC distribution has been plaged with problems and copies are trickling through the system. OC I know it's not perfect but it's the best I can do, none of the stories wanted to fit. Issue5 is currently undergoing the mallet treatment and should be up Soon(TM)

As always, the paper can be found here. we are currently taking submissions for issue 6 (and I can probably fit in very late ones for issue 5 ) which should be submitted to GGnewspaper@yahoo.co.uk

Supersheep will return next issue, I promise!))

Cooo!! Miss Ellie gets a mention! (Even if it does make her sound slightly like a tartlett! )

She is a... Never mind. *whistles*

See, the trick is to be guilted into writing bits for it and then you can make your characters look as good as you like!

I almost made comments about the War Crow article... but I would've had a hell after the next issue...

Hmm, interesting, can't wait. Does this mean a fluff war between Grav and Crow?

Grav has a lot of fans, most of them are in their teens... (the wonders of mass media)

Crow's fans... while not making an estimate of numbers can probably be mostly found in the adult female poulation.

So either way... diferent type of Fluff

I'd point out that I'm already getting comments about what Stargazer is going to do to this Michaela woman. Not pretty.

And all because the courier firm wanted some free publicity.

What Star's going to do to Michaela...what about Liz, Doc's other women are now in print!

Just be thankful they went to press before they could add QS to the list.

oh, she not intrested in Doc like that...

Liz has a complete and total blindspot regarding Doc. I think if he shot her, as long as it didn't actually kill her, she'd brush it off as him being a bit stressed. (Obviously, if she was dead, she wouldn't be able to brush it off, but he'd still get away with it. )

Gotta agree on that one. She's Steam-Whipped!

Hmm, sounds like something you get on a latte...

Okay, boys, I'd like to make a statement here, for the simple fact that you chose to once more ridicule my character. I do not wish to have any retaliations, if I do, I will poison your food. ;-)

A) For the record, Hiki, expect a piece next week to rectify that.
B) He's nearly shot her once, if he had actually done so, she would have walked out without a shadow of a doubt, regardless. :-)

Please be so kind as to refrain from mocking my character any further in public, it's starting to get on my nerves, and I doubt anyone would like to have one of theirs dragged through the mud. :-)

Thank you very much. :-)

Here here!!! Seeing as my character is one of these "other women", I agree with Aisla here!!!

Thank god the paper hasn't found out about the earlier catnip incident that sparked that kiss off, or the biogelatin clones of Ellie the Doc made... That'd ruin his reputation in short order! ;p

Right then. I unreservedly apologise for any offense taken at the remarks above.

I will, however, be removing myself from GG for the foreseeable future.

Well Stef, you're kind of evoking a response with that post. You're basically asking for one set of rules to apply to your character and a different set for other people's.

1: You wrote the article, therefore putting your own character in the public eye as regards the forums. It is bound to lead to commentary. Yes, the article was about Doctor Temporis, but because of his relationship with Shadow's Grace, no comments made about him can avoid bringing about comments on her.

2: Shadow's Grace -has-, in all fairness, publicly behaved as though nothing Doctor Temporis does could possibly call for any form of accountability. She has often taken other characters to task for telling her when he's done something she may find offensive, but made no other public displays. If you want a character's behaviour to be commented on in a different way in public, change her behaviour in public.

3: Everyone's characters get made fun of from time to time. It happens. We're all guilty of it, including yourself. I've taken every comment made about Nevermore, Memory, and Alcatraz with good humour, because I know when I've done things that are dumb, or funny, or just plain bizarre, in hindsight. I don't see why different rules should apply to you.

If you want people to stop commenting about your character in certain ways, change your character's behaviour. I did.

I totally agree, nobody would like to have a character dragged through the mud, including myself. All of my characters are women, and so far, and I emphasaise So Far, none of them have done anything to warrant being publically ridiculed (or privately for that matter), and I hope I manage to keep it that way.

However, if that occasion should arise, I'd like to hope I can be good natured about the comments. They're about my character, relating to something she said, or did. They are not a personal reflection on me or how I play them.

I don't want to get into a slagging match about anyone's characters, but I have to agree with Ravenswing on this one - sometimes it's like Liz is totally blind to how Doctor Temporis treats her, and she has frequently turned on people for having an "unfavourable opinion" of Doc. I'm not saying that I want Liz or the way you play her to change, but just make you aware that it's not about you - it's about your character.

None of the comments I've heard or seen are meant to be in any way mallicious, and I certainly don't want to sound that way either, and I apologise profusely if I've upset or hurt anyone.
