Answering in general here:
Yes, I have to say I don't consider myself to be prone to cliques, for a long time I frequented the very low-end lvl-range (1-15) with my numerous alts and tried to give a good impression and small advice to every new player I met. I still think most veteran players are just being too paranoid..
I do have noticed a tendency in my coalition-mates to avoid inviting strangers - I have to start a campaign against that really.. I'm normally fine with inviting strangers but when I ask my friends in team "a Mr X is asking for team" then the answer is normally "no". As I said, we should concentrate on improving this on our respective supergroups..
Sure we will run into bad cases eventually, but we just have to shrug them off or even /ignore, instead of just retreating to the safety of coalition-only team all the time. If you have to turn your back on somebody, dont turn your back on all new players..
Personally I don't see a decline in community overall..yet.
But I see a tendency of underestimating the value of individual effort. I believe one person can make 7 others happier in a team with his/her efforts, just as one person can ruin a team.
Every one of us can work to improve the community by being friendly and open, so lets all work together here like real heroes!
PS. The fact that we are having a discussion on this level, should tell something about the quality and depth of COX community..
