Do i need a travel power?
It'll definitely allow you to get around quickly, but you'll be lacking any real vertical movement which will make Faultline, Terra Volta and - particularly - the Shadow Shards a nightmare to navigate!

i get faultline and terra volta (boomtown is an [censored] too with just SS) but i dont see the fuss about it. SS is really fast in the SS, you can easily beat a flyer from FBZ to the storm place, no sweat. even tho the last zone (TSP) is one heck of a shortcut for the flyer. and its even MORE easy now with the geysers put on the map.

"A Scrapper is a lot like a chainsaw. Somewhat hard to handle, incredibly dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane."
My main has NO travel power whatsoever - just basic swift from the fitness pool, and then only because I can't get stamina without it. OK, I am a solo, it's not very team friendly for sure, but still, I've never really found it to be a problem. Longest it's ever taken me to get to a timed mission (the only time I thought no travel power might be an issue) is 9 minutes 45 seconds. On the rare occasions I do team I'm often not even the last to arrive at missions, but I guess being a footslogger does tend to encourage you to learn the quickest routes.
Sure, Terra Volta and Faultline can be a pain - realistically though, you never need to go further that 200 yds into Faultline in the entire game, and TV you only really need to visit for respecs. I never found Boomtown to be a particular a problem once I learned my way around. I've never visited the shadow shard though, dunno how crippling that will be - though I hear it's NOT a place for solos anyway!
I'm a keen badge hunter and I've been surprised at how few badges require a z-axis travel power - IIRC I've only had to ask for help with 7 or 8 exploration badges so far. All the reast I've picked up unaided, and the only exploration badges I don't yet have are from Eden, the Crash Site, the Hive and the Shadow Shards (and I've not even been into these zones yet)
You should probably consider getting Hurdle and/or combat jumping as well. If you are only having 1 movement power out of the fitness pool you will be able to travel faster with Hurdle than with Swift.
As for slotting, 3 of the appropiate speed boosters in each.
I really should do something about this signature.
At level 24 getting to the reactor for a respec with no one to tp you will be a pig without someone to tp ya (i know from experience btw), faultline you dont have to enter, shards have geysers which you can learn to use but gettin to the terra reactor without a tp well i just hope you outlevel the map before you go in and the last shard tf in that great big palace i have no idea how you get in or out ive always had a tp.

Basically them three together come to about a speed that is a bit slower then fly I think. I've got Quickness, Sprint and swift Slotted with SOs so if you want to see how fast I go you're more then welcome to get in touch. They're only slotted with one SO.
So it really depends on if you rather want to save your slots and choose a travel power or, use your powers to other places and use up slots to speed up Swift/Quickness/Sprint.
hmmm gd idea as u dont waste any moves.... i guess it could work
The real advantages are you avoid travel power suppression and are very mobile in combat.
the drawback is the number of enhancment slots you have to use to keep up with your travel-powered team mates.

I have that set up with my SR, its about the same speed as unslotted fly, have fly too cause of vertical.
SR is the only powerset where Swift can be faster than hurdle I think.

Personally I have Swift for my Scrapper and it works a real treat, I don't use Hurdle as I already have Combat Jumping. Swift + Sprint + Quickness is a pretty good combination.
The thing I think you will struggle with is getting to missions in high level places. So for example if you go to Pergrenie Island at around the level 40 mark then you'll have to be careful of where you run everytime you cross over.
Mind you, I've seen 5 level 1s make it to Portal Industries which was highly amusing, love those wacky racers

Why does everyone keep saying this? You only need to find the route once and after that getting to the reactor is easy as killing a brutue with a blabber. Faultline? You only need to go there couple of times if you follow the story lines or collect all the badges. Shadow shard? Using those jumping thingys is easy and tbh you don't spend that much time in Shards either.
I always take hasten and I don't see a lot of point taking any other travel power than SS. Once you get used to just use SS theres no place you cant go easily. I would only consider taking other travel power pools if I were to make a PvP build. For PvE SS IS enough! Of course it's downt to preference but don't be afraid using just SS. It is possible and not even that hard.

I don't see the relevence to your post when you've quoted me
Unless you meant the post before mine lol
I've done Terra Volta Respec with just SS< it's not that hard once you know the route.

I'm making a power list for a alt i might play in a long time but just had a question. i am making a claws/reflexes scrapper and was wondering if i slotted quickness, sprint and swift with SOs cood it pass of as a slower super speed? would it be a travel power? and if so how many slots shal i slot them with?
