Hi all!
I'm new to CoH so be nice.
I'm looking for a nice, helpful, active and mature Supergrp to join.
No leet speaking grps pls.
I've recently left SWG as the NGE destroyed everything I worked for.
That was also my 1st and only MMORPG so it's my only reference point.
I'm basically looking for a new "guild" in CoH.
Thanks for looking.

Welcome, depending on what you play there are a variety of SGs about that could suit you which are all part of a coalition (a guild of guilds as it were)

Tanks - The Armoured Core
Controllers - The Union Overlords
Defenders - SNHS
Blasters - The Precision Rangers
Scrappers - Team GBH

There are loads of people in these groups who are also regular forumites on this community, so a wealth of knowledge and experience are at your disposal.

So these are class restricted grps?
I mean, if I'm a blaster I can't join the scrapper guild..?

these are just some SGs and scrapper can't join the blasters cause there scrappers, however ehy can all talk to eachother over coalition chat, so tis kind of like one big SG, but with different sections

What DOulos is saying is that what we have organised is effectively one big Super Group. In ordinary Super groups you can have a mix of archetypes in one close knit community. What we have done is expanded that community by giving each Archetype a SG of their own, meaning not only do we maximise space but we also allow people to bond with like minded players with similar play styles. But, since we're all coalitioned we're effectively like a normal supergroup, just BIGGER and with coalition chat and Global chat it's really easy to have this working smoothly. But we're just one coalition. THere are many SUper groups out there coalitioned with others, but our community is one which is open to all and directed at being a great community and building each other up into the best players we can be. You sold yet bud?

Only problem with the 1AT Coalition, if you want to be a blaster, we're full! Always full .

How do I like my MMOs? I like them the way Paragon Studios used to make them. - a fitting tribute from kiasa.org

EU, Union mostly.

Dont know why but I6 will always be the issue for blappers for me. I think this is down to ED making blasters make more of their secondaries due to the inability to one shot kill from distance now (not that this cant still be done).

I think alot of people who played a tank or scrapper went this way rather than roll other melee specific characters.

New Blood Rebellion is also an option for you.

We're a mixed AT SG who are pretty well known on the server and have been around since CoH was launched over here. We have A wide range of characters from 1-50.

We also happen to be in coalition with most of the single AT SG's so you can always pick up a regular team and get to know the people who make it up.

As luck would have it, despite hitting our member limit yesterday, I managed to free up some space today by removing a few inactive guys. However, these spaces normally go quite quickly so if you wanna give us a try, send a tell to the following people

Dagar
Twilight Archer
D-Zol

or these global handles

I'm on most evenings between 7-9, shout me if you want to team up with a few on the New Blood Rebellion / Last Line of Defence.

We currently have a number of very active people in the sub lvl 18 range and the same in the 30-40 range.

Plus I'm always willing to make an alt or two

Contact details bellow. or PM and you can have my xfire/messenger address to organise something.

You can look at a list of SG's by going to the SG registrar is Atlas Hall (you can sort this list by prestige with should give you a good indication of how active the SG is). Theres the odd site aswell which some SGs sign up to ( Super Group Hub is one I think). Other than that it depends what you want to do. I always believe that looking at member activity on the forums is a good indication as to the type of people you can expect to see within that SG, are they helpful on the boards etc.

have to disagree there. First of all, if a SG mainly had lvl 35+ members when the prestige system went live, they prolly wont have earned much prestige as they wouldnt gain any inf if they went to prestige mode. My WS was 39 when prestige was introduced, only once played him in SG mode during a tf, but quickly turned back to normal mode for the inf. That said, I was on almost every day.

Second of all, some SGs dont really intend on doing base raids or building a base at all, there's no need to gain prestige if you dont want a base. Doesnt mean the SG isnt active.

And last but not least, which is sadly the case in our hero SG, members forget to turn on SG mode. Mainly because there was never a need to go into SG mode before the prestige was implemented and now people just forgot bout SG mode. Hence you can have active players but not much prestige. This can also be combined with reason #1.

All in all, prestige earnt aint a good indication of activity

Bout activity on forums, I'm really the only member of our SG to frequently visit the forums. However we still are a tight-knit community and got our own forum to talk on. An active player doesnt necessarily have to be a forumite. If you really want a good indication of what a SG is like, team up with people, find some regulars, and ask them bout their SG.

Good points. Didn't really think of it in that way

I know this is normally the case with alot of people. Many of the SNHS'ers and other coalition people arn't on the forums. But those that are, are generally helpful etc so I didn't necessarily means the quantity but the quality, so to speak. In your case, as you said not many people are forumites from your SG, but you are and from what I remember you are always polite and helpful on the boards so this could give an indication as to what to expect from your supergroup.

Agreed it probably is the best way, get that friends list growing and ask about their SGs. But it is also the way that probably takes the longest to find what you are looking for
