Guys, as these 'SG Specific' threads seem to be appearing quite regularly, I'm guessing a lot of you may not know about what's discussed HERE

If one of you can point it out to the SG/VG leaders, it would be appreciated.

quiet would be an optimum term ;p

wow! been a while since there's been a post, hasn't it?

No wonder we're several pages in!!

So, shall we start making lots of irrelevant posts just to boost us to the top of the forums list again?

Thought you were going to post your ideas for SVG rankings Sparky, or is work proving too much fun?

Clearly work isn't proving too much fun for me....

ho hum

oooh, anyone looked at the offical site regarding patron powers?

I'm liking the sounds of Ghost Widow or Captain Mako myself...for my mastermind at least.

afaik all the patron powers are really rubbish, but the story arcs are interesting ;p

We're baaaaack,

Now wasn't that exciting. I anticipate Spark will post his thoughts in the near future, as he, jon and myself has a summit meeting yesterday and ironed out the details. I would post them here but tbh i wasn't paying that much attention, but it's rivetting stuff.

It seems our new SG activity, the Wolfpack (a group of militery based concept toons) is off to a successful start, with most of us reaching the heady heights of lvl 18-19 over the weekend. Revelling in ones total gimpedness has proven to be more fun than i'd have anticipated.

We've had a rather drastic round of kickings, removing those people that hadn't been on for a long time, making lots of room in the SG. No doubt we will embark on a recruitment drive soon and get more of that lovely prestige coming in. Personally i'd like earn enough to upgrade our toilets from the mark1 public services to the glitzy mark2 public services with working soap dispenser, 3 million well spent i think.

Lastly can i voice a big, hearty 'meh' to the rehashed, recycled and thoroughly underwhelming new patron powers....if i wanted a pet that lasted 4 minutes every 15 i'd buy a box of kittens and get my golf clubs.

Lets keep the evil alive folks.

BOOOOOOOM

Several Months Later.....

Well helllooooooo Everybody (Hi Dr Nick)
As the crazed fools / esteemed colleagues of mine have pointed out, D&VS is back. We (all except Jon who forgot his passport) have been sunning ourselves on the shores of Talos Island and playing the occasional game of Tsoo golf (where I have an astounding handicap (and I'm good too! (just before Kitty gets that on in)).

OK So what's new in D&VS

As Kitty said we've cleared out the "dead wood" though any who come back with I7 will be welcomed back into the fold (to start with, wb Scar and Lady D) with open arms (and daggers up the sleeves).

We've also reassigned ranks. The new ranks are:

Supreme Being (don't ask me I let Kitty choose!) - There are and will only ever be 3 of these - one of the reasons for the VGs untimely quietening was too many chiefs. This rank is entirely a managerial one, but is there to safeguard our 2 most important assets, our members (protecting them from kicks etc) and our base (preventing anyone accidentally setting up a raid).

Veteran - we wanted a rank that allowed us to recognise people who have made outstanding contributions to the group - this will NOT be prestige related - we wanted it to be a reward for something meaningful, eg someone who goes out of thier way to arrange good events etc or who is always helpful to the new members to the group - all the "good" villainous :P things we do. To reinforce the sanctity of this rank each actual humon (to quote Quark) will be allowed one toon as a veteran only (management will not be allowed any) - This rank has substantially more privaledges, reflecting the trust that we have in these individuals.

Commander - As a recognised leader within the VG, these are people who commonly lead teams, recruit new members and are generally all round nice villains... err...

Leiutenant (pronounced Lef-ten-ant - we're not from over the pond damnit!). These are recruits who have shown that they are committed to the group, this rank will be awarded based on activeness of a toon.

Recruit - The newest members of the VG will all start here... The core of our apple, the ham in our sandwich, the dog in our hotdog...

Things in the back of my warped mind for the group:

BASE - Now the prestige is flowing nicely again we can start to look towards our next purchases - with I7 (god-willing) just around the corner there will be all sort of niceness for us to buy (insp and enhancement holders for starts!)

RAIDS - Not yet. I want us to get involved with this again (if we have sufficient PVP oriented members) - we still have one of the very best bases going which has proven a nice challenge for those who have raided us in the past and we are fully IoP Ready - the question is - do we want one given the risks that come with it?

EVENTS: As kitty mentioned we rolled up a themed set of toons (which were a lot of fun) over the weekend - this sort of thing could be something we do as a group more often, given that over a w/e of playing you can easily get to low/mid twenties perhaps we could have a themed weekend say once a month.

I'd also like to see some Arena nights perhaps - just ourselves to start with but we can perhaps schedule something with the other major VGs.

AOB:
A few random musings - VG Mergers - if you run a small VG and would like to merge with us then I could see benefits all round - increased activity and full access to our base and its facilities. I believe CoV is an example where "Divide and Conquer" does not apply. IMHO there are too many VGs for the number of players.

Salvage Swaps - we like tech - we have lots of arcane to swap - contact myself, Kitty, Jon or any of the Demons you see to sort something out.

Other than that - watch this space and its good to be back (and bad!)

good post sparky

One point about raids for items of power is on success they come with apparently 5 million in prestige bonus (for the task force). that'd make the risk worth it in my mind (to say nothing of the juicy badge ;p)

re: recycled patron powers...
what's been used before then? I've not seen any of that shark business. I'm liking the look of the sharks, and I love the sound of the one that comes out of the ground

I did recognise the electric mastery one though, as Scarlet used to have that, back when she was kickass [sniff]

well, generally speaking each patron arc set is the same as the other 3 with almost no exceptions, just with different graphics and maybe a different damage type.

Ghost widows is dark mastery essentially, scirocco (whose arc is as cool as hell by the way, he's a really top bloke) is elec thingymajiggy, and the others are just the same with different graphics.

Ok, so the sharks are new, but the dark and elec sets are completely rehashed, and because of concept will be the ones i go for on my two lvl 40s

The numbers that someone posted the other day about the values on the armours (on dominators) were actually quite impressive though (about 28% with one SO) so at least they aren't derivative AND [censored]

shame about all the damage powers, which are barely better than brawl with 20 second recharges and 10 end costs ;p

edit: good news, salvage storage bins are being upgraded to 2500 peices, so if we stick 2 in, one tech one arcane we can hold mucho salvage =)

Woot! Bins! Noone said i7 would be this exciting, if i'd known there would be bins i would have joined the "whens i7?" "i want i7?" "how long till i7?" bandwagon

Next you'll be telling me they've added a new shade of grey to the colour palete at the tailors...i can only take so much anticipation you know

oooo bin frenzy!

that's a much more realistic amount. I'm sure the toons can hold close to 150 anyway - kind of defeats the purpose.

heh there's now military grey and ocean grey, for double the grey goodness ;p

and characters can hold way more than 150 pieces of salvage so yes, bins were usless before =)

Hey Jon - where did you get that info about the large prestige haul from the Trial? Is good news that and I may rethink my thoughts about the risk/reward ratio.
